WEDDING CEREMONY SCRIPT
Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today in the presence of God, family, and friends to witness and celebrate the union of Benjamin Paul Ogburn and Heather Elizabeth Yancey in holy matrimony.
Marriage is a sacred covenant, created by God, rooted in love, strengthened by faith, and sustained through commitment. It is more than a promise—it is a lifelong journey of growing together, supporting one another, and walking hand in hand with God at the center.
The Bible reminds us in 1 Corinthians 13 that “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud… It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”
Today, Benjamin and Heather choose to build their marriage on that kind of love.
Benjamin and Heather, you stand here not only as individuals, but as two lives being joined as one in the eyes of God. May your love be a reflection of His grace—strong in difficult moments, joyful in the good, and unwavering through all seasons.
⸻
DECLARATION OF INTENT
Benjamin, do you take Heather to be your lawfully wedded wife, to love her as Christ loves, to honor and cherish her, to stand beside her in faith and devotion, in joy and in hardship, for all the days of your life?
(He responds: I do)
Heather, do you take Benjamin to be your lawfully wedded husband, to love and support him, to honor and cherish him, and to walk with him in faith, in joy and in hardship, for all the days of your life?
(She responds I Do)

RING EXCHANGE
The rings you are about to exchange are a symbol of your eternal love and commitment. A circle has no beginning and no end, just as your love is meant to be unending.
Benjamin, please place the ring on Heather’s finger and repeat after me:
“I give you this ring
as a symbol of my love and faithfulness.
With all that I am,
and all that I have,
I honor you,
in the name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.”
