Officiated by Renee Marie Marble at Canterbury Castle in Lake Orion, Michigan on May 30th, 2026. Witnessed by Dana Corey and Joe Plienaitis.
"I had the honor and privilege of officiating the wedding of a dear friend of more than 30 years. It was truly a special experience—one I will cherish for years to come. The day was absolutely beautiful, filled with love, laughter, and meaningful moments. I was humbled and grateful to receive so many kind compliments on both the ceremony and the pre-meal prayer. Being entrusted with such an important role in the lives of people I care about was a gift, and I feel incredibly blessed to have been a part of their unforgettable day."
Opening
Good evening everyone.
We are gathered here today to celebrate something truly special—the marriage of Kristin and Mike. A day filled with love, joy, and the coming together of two lives that were always meant to find each other.
For those of you who may not know me, I’ve had the privilege of knowing Kristin for 30 years. I’ve seen her through so many seasons of life, and I can tell you this—she has always been thoughtful, grounded, and someone who loves deeply, even if she doesn’t always need to be the loudest voice in the room.
And then there’s Mike.
Mike walks into a room, and you know it. He brings energy, connection, and a warmth that draws people in. But more importantly, he brings something incredibly special to Kristin’s life—he makes her laugh, often when she least expects it… usually with just the right amount of sarcasm. And at his core, Mike is a true gentleman—kind, respectful, and someone who shows his love not just in words, but in how he shows up every single day.
Reflection on Their Relationship
On paper, you might say these two are opposites.
Mike, the social butterfly.
Kristin, the quiet strength.
But love has a way of knowing exactly what we need.
Because what looks like “opposites” is actually balance.
It shows up in the way Kristin will go to Michigan football games with Mike—cheering right alongside him, even if she’s still figuring out the rules.
And it shows up in the way Mike stands beside Kristin at symphonies and museums—stepping into her world with the same openness and love.
That’s what partnership looks like.
Not just sharing what comes naturally—but choosing each other’s worlds, again and again.
Acknowledging Loved Ones
Before we continue, we want to take a moment to honor those who are not physically here today.
We honor the memory of Kristin’s father, David Seitz, whose presence is still felt in this sacred moment and whose love continues through her. We also hold in loving remembrance Michael’s father and mother, Joseph and Sarren Plienaitis, whose influence, values, and love continue to live on in him and will continue to in this marriage. Mike’s parents and Kristin’s dad are deeply missed today. Their love, their guidance, and the role they played in shaping these two incredible people lives on in this moment.
Though they cannot stand here with us, they are absolutely part of this day.
Let’s take a quiet moment to remember them.
(Pause)
They are with us—in spirit, in memory, and in every bit of love we feel here today.
Reflection on the Future
Kristin and Mike, your life together won’t just be made up of big milestones like today—but of all the little moments in between.
It will be filled with cheering from the stands at countless sporting events…
With quiet nights where no words are needed at all…
With trips to new places, shared experiences, and memories that become your story…
And very likely… a home filled with love, laughter, and a few more adopted animals along the way.
Because that’s who you are—people who care deeply, who nurture, and who make space for more love in your lives.
And one day, years from now, you’ll look back—not just at the adventures—but at the quiet, steady love that carried you through it all.
Growing older together—not just side by side, but truly together.
