Dear Friends and Family,

We are gathered here today, in the presence of God to join Kristen Michelle Pascoe and Patrick Brent Scott in the spiritual union of marriage.

Let us pray.

Lord, we ask that you make yourself present in this union.

We pray that this wedding would bring you honor and happiness.

We ask that you would bless this family and bless this ceremony.

It is in your Son’s holy name we pray, Amen.

Who gives this bride to be married?

This union is not to be entered into lightly but thoughtfully and seriously, and with a deep realization of its commitments and responsibilities. Please remember that love, loyalty, and understanding are the foundations of a happy and enduring home.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 gives us a picture of how love should look in our lives.

It says,

“4. Love is patient and love is kind; it does not envy and it does not boast; it is not arrogant or rude.

5. It does not insist in its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;

6. It does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but it rejoices with the truth.

7. Love protects, believes all things, hopes all things, and it preserves and endures all things.

8. Love never fails.”

You two have had to persevere and endure a lot of things.

You have dealt with both the joys and the challenges of life separately, but God has brought your stories together now.

He has brought you together into a companionship to share in the responsibilities and the joys of life.

From now on, when you share a sorrow, the sorrow is halved, and when you share a joy, the joy is doubled.

Today begins a lifetime of sharing these things, nurturing and supporting each other, and now growing as one as time goes by.

Mom and Brent, you are about to make your promises to one another. I encourage you to invest your time, love, and commitment to one another, but more importantly to the Lord, and He will share His joy with you.

The ring, an unbroken circle, is an excellent representation of unending love. Whenever you look upon them, remind yourselves of this moment and the love you promised to each other.
