Dearly Beloved and Honored Guests,
We are gathered together here to join Megan Huether and Grant Olsen in the spiritual union of marriage. I personally thank you on behalf of both the Olsens and my family, the Huethers, for coming today to this wonderful celebration! I am very honored that Megan and Grant have given me the privilege of officiating their wedding!
As many of you know, Megan is my older sister. She was there when I was brought back from the hospital and grew up with me. Through the years, we have grown close, and I have always been protective of her. I always wanted to keep her safe and was very careful about who she brought back. Then Grant came into the picture when I was a senior in high school. The first time we met was at my high school cross-country meet. After seeing Grant on the first family trip and watching him play pickleball, we knew that he would fit in with the family. As many of you know, to survive in the Huether clan, you need a paddle in hand. It has been my pleasure over the past almost 8 years to grow up and see their relationship blossom into what it is today. I am so excited to see all that the future will hold and cannot wait to support them and their family in all their future endeavors.
This contract is not to be entered into lightly but thoughtfully and seriously, and with a deep realization of its obligations and responsibilities. Please remember that love, loyalty, and understanding are the foundations of a happy and enduring home.
So with that said, what is love?
Love is a song: What is love, baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me, no more.
Love is a feeling: a pounding in your chest, sweaty palms, and nerves that take over your whole being. The first signs of love as a feeling
Love is an emotion: Do you mean it when you say it? If you were to go today, would those you care about know how you felt? Use this as a reminder to tell those you care about that you love them! Sharing feelings is not for the weak-hearted but strengthens relationships and bonds beyond comparison!
Love is sacrificial: In John 15:13 scripture reads, Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. Love is sacrificial. In marriage and in life, there come times when we need to put someone else's needs above our own. In this covenant of Marriage, both Megan and Grant will have to put each other before themselves.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.
Megan Huether and Grant Olsen will now share their vows.
