Dearly Beloved and Honored Guests,

Cody and Christian, today you begin your married life together. You will make vows to each other, in front of all your friends and family. And you will commit to live faithfully in marriage to one another. And as I see the two of you in front of me now, I can't help but think about Joy. Today will undoubtedly be a joyful and happy day, but I want you two to understand something. The joy you feel in life is only as lasting as whatever you tether it to. Throughout your marriage, you'll be tempted to tether your joy to your job, to your hobbies, and of course, to each other. But where will your joy be if the job disappears, or your golf game doesn't improve, or when your marriage is tested? Instead, tether your joy, and your marriage, to something that is everlasting. Root your relationship in a daily, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and live it out in community with God's people through His church.

Genesis Chapter 2 says "A man shall leave his father and mother and shall cleave to his wife and they shall become one flesh." As her brother-in-law, it's an honor to ask Christian's family, WHO GIVES CHRISTIAN'S HAND IN MARRIAGE TO CODY?
