I can't imagine a more perfect place than in God's beautiful creation as we celebrate you choosing each other to become one. We are also honoring the creation of a new family with each of you and Jackson, joining together.

I said "choosing" in my opening line intentionally because not only did you have a choice, but so did God, and what an incredible story He's written. You've known each other for over 20 years, and yet our heavenly Father was shaping your paths, preparing your hearts, and guiding you all that time, to this very moment. To know that your marriage will truly be rooted in friendship is something really special. It’s a place to ground yourselves as you move forward together. Always remember that you chose loyalty and patience to be the foundation of what you will continue to build for yourselves and for Jackson. I also encourage you to continue inviting God into the center of it all. When that foundation is strong, it creates a life filled with purpose and so much joy.

As we exchange rings, remember this is a symbol of your love and lifelong commitment. These rings serve as a constant reminder of you choosing each other and God choosing you to be one.

Lou, as you place Brad's ring on his finger, do you take Brad to be your husband, to love him, support him, and walk beside him through every season of life, in good times and in hard times, for as long as you both shall live?

Brad, as you place Lou's ring on her finger, I ask you if you not only take Louisa to be your wife, but do you also promise to her and Jackson to love them, support them, and walk beside them through every season of life, in good times and in hard times, for as long as you shall live?

Because you have joined your hearts and lives, and have made these promises as a family, I now pronounce you husband and wife! Brad, you can kiss your bride!

Sand: The different colors of sand represent your individual lives, and now you will blend them. As the different colors combine, they create a unique pattern. Just as the grains of sand can never be separated and go back to their original color, it symbolizes that your new family is now joined.
