Wedding Officiant Script – David & Renee
1. Opening
“Good afternoon everyone.
We’re gathered here today to celebrate something that, at its core, is actually pretty simple — two people choosing each other.
David and Renee — not just for today, not just for the easy moments — but for everything that comes with building a life together.
And the fact that all of you are here… that says something. It says these two are surrounded by people who know them, support them, and believe in what they have.”
2. About Love
“Marriage isn’t about perfection.
It’s about showing up — consistently.
It’s choosing patience when it’s hard
Choosing understanding when it’s easier not to
And choosing each other, again and again, even when life gets messy.
Because it will.
But that’s what makes this meaningful — not just the love they feel today, but the commitment they’re making for every day after.”
3. Faith + Relationship Reflection (Reworked Flow)
“And as it says in 1 Corinthians:
Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
And isn’t it so fitting — that in Galatians 5, we learn that the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control.
Because over the past 15 years, we’ve all had the privilege of watching David and Renee’s relationship reflect these qualities in a real and tangible way.
Love, joy, and peace — consistently.
And yes… a lot — a lot — of patience.
They show kindness to one another. They lead with goodness.
They’ve remained faithful, and they’ve carried themselves with self-control and respect.
That kind of love isn’t loud or showy.
It’s steady. It’s humble. It’s real.
And that’s exactly the kind of love David and Renee share.
These aren’t just words — they’re actions. And they’re the foundation of what has brought them here today.”
5. Transition to Vows
“And now, David and Renee will share their vows — promises that go beyond today, and into every chapter ahead.”
6. Vows
recognize.
“Repeat after me:
I, [Name], take you, [Name],
to be my [wife/husband],
to have and to hold,
from this day forward,
for better, for worse,
for richer, for poorer,
in sickness and in health,
to love and to cherish,
until death do us part.”
7. Ring Exchange
“These rings are simple — but what they represent is anything but.
They are a symbol of a promise — one that has no beginning and no end.
David, please place the ring on Renee’s finger and repeat after me:
‘I give you this ring
As a symbol of my love
My commitment
And my promise to stand by you
Today and always.’”
(Repeat for Renee)
8. Declaration
“David and Renee — you’ve shared your vows, exchanged your rings, and made your commitment clear in front of everyone here today.
So by the power vested in me, I now pronounce you married.
9. The Kiss
“David — you may kiss your bride.”
10. Introduction
“It is my honor to introduce, for the first time — David and Renee!”
