Officiated by Ronald E Morris III at 1035 Kenton St. in Bowling Green, Kentucky on April 2nd, 2026. Witnessed by Latasha Anthony.
"Officiating the wedding of my oldest daughter, Daja, and her beloved, Datoryon, was one of the most moving experiences of my life. Standing before them, I felt the weight of years — of love, growth, and faith — all culminating in that sacred moment. It was heartfelt, joyful, and profoundly spiritual. Watching them exchange vows reminded me that love is not only a promise but a legacy. To bless their union as both father and officiant was a privilege beyond words — a moment where family, faith, and purpose became one."
Welcome Friends, Family, and loved ones! We are gathered today in the sight of God and family to witness and celebrate the marriage of Datoryon Day and Daja Carnell.
We rejoice today as Datoryon and Daja receive one of God’s greatest gifts – a loving partner to grow with, to share life’s joys and challenges with, to build a family with, to grow old with, and to journey in faith throughout all their days.
Before we begin, let us bow our heads and ask God’s blessing for Datoryon and Daja, and for our loved ones who have passed on.
Heavenly Father,
We humbly ask Your blessing upon Datoryon and Daja as they embark on this new chapter of their lives together. We thank You for bringing them together and for the love they share.
Guide them as they navigate life's journey hand-in-hand. May their love be a beacon of light, reflecting Your love for the world.
We remember our loved ones who’s passed on. Though they are absent in body, we know their spirits are present in our hearts. May their memory be a source of comfort and inspiration.
Bless this special day and this beautiful union. May Datoryon and Daja’s love grow stronger with each passing year.
In Your holy name, we pray.
Amen.
Presentation of the Bride
Who gives this woman to be married to this man?
Datoryon and Daja, marriage is a sacred bond — a commitment to love and support each other through thick and thin. It requires a deep foundation of trust, patience, and unwavering loyalty.
As the Apostle Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 13: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no... Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” This kind of love is essential for a lasting and fulfilling marriage.
Datoryon and Daja, I encourage you to hold onto the vision of love that you have for each other. Remember, even though we all support you, life will present challenges. It’s the kind of love Paul describes that will help you overcome those obstacles.
With that in mind, Datoryon and Daja, is there anything you would like to say to one another?
(Vows)
Datoryon, do you take Daja to be your lawfully wedded wife — to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself unto her for as long as you both shall live?
(Confirmation: “I DO”)
Daja, do you take Datoryon to be your lawfully wedded husband — to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself unto him for as long as you both shall live?
(Confirmation: “I DO”)
Datoryon and Daja will now exchange rings as a symbol of their love and commitment to one another.
(Ring Exchange — Presenting of the Rings)
Datoryon, you will notice that the ring is a complete circle, without beginning or end. It is symbolic, A trust, of the endlessness of your love for Daja.
You will take this ring, place it on the third finger of Daja’s left hand, and as you place it there repeat after me:
“Daja, with this ring, I thee wed. I promise to love, honor, and cherish you, in good times and bad, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part.”
Daja, you will notice that this ring is made of the purest of metals. It will not decay or tarnish with age. It is symbolic, A trust, of the purity of your love for Datoryon.
You will take this ring, place it on the third finger of Datoryon’s left hand, and as you place it there repeat after me:
“Datoryon, with this ring, I thee wed. I promise to love, honor, and cherish you, in good times and bad, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part.”
