Wedding Ceremony OUTLINE:

(Who gives the bride to this man?)

🌸 Opening Wedding Prayer🌸

Dear Heavenly Father,

You ordained marriage as a sacred covenant between man, woman, and Yourself. Today we thank You for bringing Michael and Katlyn together before You.

Bless their union, strengthen them in faithfulness, unite them in every season, and let their love reflect Your covenant—steadfast, sacrificial, grace filled, and true—just as the way Jesus loves His Church.

Fill their home with peace, wisdom, and joy. May they walk together in Your ways, building a life that honors You and blesses generations to come.

As parents, we entrust them into Your hands as a couple. Guide them, sustain them, and let Your presence, their covenant with You, be the foundation of their marriage.

May their love endure, grow deeper in You, and remain faithful all their days.

The Lord bless you and keep you

The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you

The Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.

REBECCA sings ” THE BLESSING”

Thank you Love, you’ve been singing to our children since their conception, and it has been a blessing.

This song, The Blessing, is the Aaronic Blessing or Priestly Blessing from Numbers 6:22-26; where God commands Aaron and his sons to bless the people of Israel with “this special blessing.”

Throughout the Bible, we are told of God blessing His children, for protection, for provision, for peace, and family; and so, His children follow His example by blessing their children; ceremonially a Father blessing his son.

What is a Father’s blessing?

A Father’s Blessing in the Bible is a significant event in a son’s life, a ceremonial marking from a father to a son; an intentional act of praying God’s favor and the father’s favor onto the son, affirming and identifying the son’s destiny, favor, and inheritance of goodness from the father.

Gen 49: 25-26

25 because of the God of your father who helps you, because of the Almighty who gives you blessings from the heavens above, blessings from the deep springs below the ground, blessings from breasts and womb.

26 The blessings of your father are greater than the blessings of the oldest mountains and the riches of the ancient hills. May these blessings rest on the head of Joseph,

I bless you, Michael, as Jacob blessed Joseph

May the Lord make your union fruitful like a healthy vine, rich in joy, strength, grace, and faith.

May the Lord’s Hand guide you in every decision, may you trust in the Lord with all your heart and never lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge the Lord, and may He direct your steps, make your paths straight, and guard you from every evil way.

May His blessings pour over your home as abundantly as the heavens above, and as deeply as the oceans below it.

May your marriage be strengthened with God’s protection, wisdom, knowledge, grace, mercies, and favor; and may your family grow in righteousness, grace, faith, and love.

May your days be blessed , your hands be fruitful, your mind be at peace, and your life bring honor to your family and to God.

I bless you Son, in the name of our Father, our Lord Jesus, and The Holy Spirit. Amen.

And with the Father’s blessing spoken, we now turn to the role God has also established through the mother. For Scripture tells us in Proverbs 1:8-9

8 Pay close attention, my child, to your father’s wise words and never forget your mother’s teachings.

9 For your father’s words and your mother’s teachings will bring you success, adorning you with grace-filled thoughts and giving you reins on yourself to guide your decisions.

The Bible speaks on a Mother’s blessing being a pivotal role through a child’s life. From a young child, blessings come from a mother’s daily teachings, shaping the child’s heart and mind with her words and actions. While not ceremonially public and formal, like the Father’s Blessing, it is just as impactful, if not more so, because it is done daily and continuously; heart and mind shaping with comforting, loving, nurturing, and guidance that only a mother can give to her child.

Katlyn, one day you will be a mother, and may you walk in wisdom, in strength, in patience, and in the confidence of a marriage rooted in God’s truth. May your love be steadfast, your words be filled with grace, and your home be a place of peace. May you be a blessing to your family in the name of our Father, our Lord Jesus, and The Holy Spirit. Amen.

We have infused this wedding ceremony with the ancient Biblical ceremony of blessings over our children, we now turn to a wedding unity ceremony practiced by my ancestors dating back to the late 1500s when Spanish friars brought the wedding unity ceremony from Spain to the Philippines.

Michael & Katlyn, each one of the persons involved in each ceremony are your lifelong partners, mentors, and family, to watch, celebrate, comfort, and encourage you both in every step of your life as a married couple in covenant with God and covered by God’s grace and mercies.

Filipino Wedding Unity Rituals

The 1st of the 4 unity ceremonies is:

The 13 Coins (Arrhae)

Rebecca will hand Michael the coins in a moment

The 13 coins represent Jesus and His 12 disciples.

The 12 coins represent the Apostles as well as the earthly family you both are building.

The 13th coin, a true silver coin, is the most precious of these coins, and represents our Lord Jesus. Just as silver is valued above the rest, so Jesus is the greatest treasure in marriage; the marriage becoming a “three-fold cord” that is not easily broken, Ecclesiastes 4:12; with Jesus as the 3rd cord that binds husband and wife together in strength, beauty, and lasting unity.

These 13 coins are presented as a declaration of provision, stewardship, and shared responsibility. Michael receive the coins from your mother, and always remember all that she has taught you throughout your upbringing, the valuable wisdom that she imparted to you.

Michael, now give the coins to your bride as a sign of your commitment to provide; Katlyn, now return the coins back to your groom, signifying that all resources are now shared and entrusted to both of you, equally under God. This exchange reflects covenant partnership and faithful stewardship of God’s blessings. “Every good and perfect gift is from above.” (James 1:17)

The 2nd of the 4 unity ceremonies is:

The Unity Candle

Wes & Abs please light the candles and hand them to Michael and Katlyn

The Unity Candle represents two lives becoming one, Michael and Katlyn, as a couple in unison, light the larger candle, making a single flame together. This act reflects your union in Christ and your calling to walk together in His light. “A cord of three strands is not easily broken.” (Ecclesiastes 4:12)

The 3rd of the 4 unity ceremonies is:

The Veil (Yugal)

Amberle, Aubrynn, and Almyra, please drape Katlyn and Michael

The veil is placed over Michael & katlyn as a symbol of being clothed as one under God’s covering. It represents unity, protection, and their new identity together—not only joined to one another but bound in covenant with God Himself. Under this covering, God establishes His covenant with them, and they, in turn, commit their marriage fully to Him in faith, obedience, and love. “Above all these put-on love, which binds everything together in perfect unity.” (Colossians 3:14)

The 4th of the 4 unity ceremonies is:

The Cord (Yugal)

Kaden & Tom, please palce the cord around Mike and Katlyn

The cord is placed over Michael & Katlyn in a figure-eight shape, symbolizing an eternal and unbreakable bond. It represents their lifelong covenant of faithfulness, strengthened by God’s presence as the third strand. “A cord of three strands is not easily broken.” (Ecclesiastes 4:12)

Having completed these unity rites—the coins, the candle, the veil, and the cord—we have witnessed a powerful picture: provision entrusted, lives united, a covering established, and a covenant bound.

Yet these symbols, though rich and deep in meaning, now give way to something even greater, even deeper—not what is shown outwardly, but what is spoken and sealed inwardly before God.

Scripture tells us in 1 Corinthians 13:13 that “faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” It is this love—enduring, sacrificial, eternal, and in covenant with God, that now becomes the foundation upon which this marriage is established.

And so, as we move from symbol to covenant, from representation to declaration, we come to the giving of rings and the exchange of vows, the visible and verbal expression of a love that is not only felt, but promised… not only promised, but kept.

Love is Strong and Eternal

As the scriptures say in 1 Corinthians 13:13, three things will last forever

1. Faith, abiding trust in God and His promises

2. Hope, the confident expectation of eternal salivation

3. Love, unselfish love for others growing out of God’s love for me

the greatest of these is love; ‭‭‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬God is Love ‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Love, in its truest form, is the reflection of God’s own nature:

• Selfless

• Steadfast

• Sacrificial

It is not merely a feeling, but a divine calling to give without measure, to forgive without end, and to remain faithful through every season. Love is heaven’s language written upon the human heart, the echo of our Creator’s design from the very beginning. For God is love, and it was His love that first breathed life into creation and continues to bind us to one another even now.

To Love, gives strength, tenderness, and endurance; not because it is easy, but because it is a choice you both will make, moment by moment, choosing to Love again and again and again, no matter the ever-changing circumstances of life.

Song of Solomon 8:6–7

“Set me like a seal upon your heart, like a seal upon your arm; for love is as strong as death, passion fierce as the grave.

Its flashes are flashes of fire, a raging flame, the very flame of the Lord. Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it.”

Love, lit by the very flame of God, cannot be measured or contained.

It is stronger than the winds of a 1000 hurricanes, greater in depth than the deepest ocean, brighter than the sun at noon on a cloudless day.

It burns not to consume, but to ignite and fuse together two people as one.

One life to be shared, a covenant between a man, a woman, and God.

Love calls us not only to passion, but to a life of peace, a peace born and grown daily through faithfulness, kindness, and grace towards each other.

For love rooted in God becomes the quiet strength during every trial, joy that holds on and outlast storms, and the covenant, like a triple braided cord is not easily broken, Ecclesiastes 4:12

May this be the kind of love that intertwines you, Michael & Ka

tlyn

A love that is steadfast, alive, and rooted in the Word of God.

May your Love burn bright when the world is cold, remain calm and steadfast when storms arise, and grace filled when emotions are tense.

May the Love you declare today in front of these witnesses always be a seal upon your hearts, foundational thought upon your minds, and spoke often, not only with your tongues, but in every act seen and unseen, to take every opportunity to show patients, to be kind, to give grace, and to fulfill your covenant.

Who has the rings?

Michael – take your bride’s hand, now speak your vow to your bride, then place the ring on her finger to seal your vow.

Katlyn – take your groom’s hand, now speak your vow to your groom, then place the ring on his finger to seal your vow.

Michael Katlyn, you two have woven your lives together with God, His Words as your foundation, the Mother’s and Father’s Blessings, and the unity ceremonies of

• The veil of protection

• The cord of unity

• The coins of prosperity

• And the light of shared faith

In the spirit of these ceremonies that binds all aspects of your marriage to God, may you Michael and you Katlyn show each other the same grace God shows to all His children from this moment on; I now pronounce you husband and wife, forever one under God’s grace.

Sir Michael, Modern Day Knight, seal this ceremony with a kiss.

Friends, Family, Please welcome the new family of Michael & Katlyn Punzalan.
