Gavin Hafemann And Samantha Bartels’ Wedding Wedding Ceremony Script

1. Opening

Welcome, everyone.

For those of you who don’t know me, my name is [Your Name]. I’ve had the privilege of being close friends with [Partner 1] and [Partner 2] for many years, and it truly means the world to me to stand here with them today.

We’re here to celebrate something simple and extraordinary: two people choosing each other — intentionally, joyfully, and with love — surrounded by the people who matter most to them.

2. Reflection (Personal)

Marriage isn’t about perfection. It’s about partnership.

It’s about choosing to show up — on the easy days and the hard ones — with patience, humor, honesty, and grace.

Anyone who knows [Partner 1] and [Partner 2] knows that they already do this naturally. They support one another, challenge each other, laugh a lot, and face life as a team. Today is about making that commitment official.

3. Declaration of Intent (REQUIRED)

[Partner 1] and [Partner 2], please face each other and hold hands.

[Partner 1], do you take [Partner 2] to be your lawfully wedded [wife/husband/spouse], to share your life together, to support and care for them, and to walk beside them through all that life brings?

Partner 1: I do.

[Partner 2], do you take [Partner 1] to be your lawfully wedded [wife/husband/spouse], to share your life together, to support and care for them, and to walk beside them through all that life brings?

Partner 2: I do.

4. Vows (Repeat-After-Me)

Repeat-after-me version:

[Partner 1], please repeat after me:

I choose you, [Partner 2],

to be my partner and my best friend,

to laugh with you,

to support you,

and to grow with you,

from this day forward.

(Repeat for Partner 2.)

5. Ring Exchange (Optional)

These rings are a symbol of commitment — a reminder that love is not just something you feel, but something you choose every day.

[Partner 1], place the ring on [Partner 2]’s finger and repeat after me:

With this ring,

I choose you,

today and always.

(Repeat for Partner 2.)

6. Pronouncement (REQUIRED)

[Partner 1] and [Partner 2],

you have declared your intent, made your promises, and committed yourselves to one another.

By the authority vested in me by the State of Wisconsin, I now pronounce you married.

7. Closing

You may now kiss!

🎉 Cue applause
