Dearly Beloved and Honored Guests,

We are gathered together here to join Joshua Caoile and Phanarath Sok in the spiritual union of marriage.

This contract is not to be entered into lightly but thoughtfully and seriously, and with a deep realization of its obligations and responsibilities. Please remember that love, loyalty, and understanding are the foundations of a happy and enduring home.

Before you speak your vows, we pause to acknowledge the sacred ground on which you stand. In the presence of God, whose love is faithful and self-giving, and in the light of the Buddha’s teaching, which calls us to compassion, mindfulness, and right commitment, we recognize that marriage is more than a promise of happiness. It is a vow of faithfulness, patience, and love—a covenant and a refuge—through which two lives are joined not only in joy, but in responsibility, sacrifice, and enduring care for one another. May the wisdom of both traditions guide you as you choose, freely and wholeheartedly, to walk this life together.
