WELCOME
Friends and family, we’ve come together today to honor the love between Samantha and Amy as they take the vows of marriage.
INVOCATION
Today we gather in celebration of love in its truest sense. Love is not defined as a commodity afforded only to a select few. Love is a universal and immeasurable gift given between and enjoyed by two people who have deepened their relationship far beyond that of casual friendship. Love is special, and deserves to be celebrated.
Samantha and Amy have known this moment was coming from the first day they met. Standing in front of each other that day – smiling and laughing like old friends from day one – they felt something familiar and extraordinary linking them together, as if they’d always known each other. They have shared the best and most vulnerable parts of each other over the past years, supporting each other in new trials and adventures. Now they’re ready to start the biggest adventure of all – marriage.
The promises of marriage are many. Marriage promises companionship and laughter, challenge and joy, adventure and the peace we experience through unity. It’s a bond we build of the strongest faith in another person and their love for us, an ability to look at our lover with eyes unclouded and heart open. To see them as they are, and to see our truest self in their love and acceptance.
