"This rockin' couple play together in a punk band on the border of Tex and Mex, and have made history bringing people together with their upbeat music, and uplifting their community through messages of hope and resistance with song and art. After sharing the stage with them over the years in music venues, it was my great honor to share a different type of stage with them and play a different type of music- not one sang through melody, but a love song shared through the spoken verses of ceremony and vows. The ceremony script itself includes many verses directly quoted from songs they wrote from their first EP together, woven together into the story of their love, and brought full circle into the present moment. Loved every moment of the intimate ceremony, which concluded in the golden hour of the autumnal evening, the bride glowing in the gorgeous, fiery light of their first kiss under a giant oak tree. "

Thank you all for being here today.
Your Love and appreciation for this couple is part of all the little miracles that had to happen for us to finally arrive here, at the very Moment of Truth and Love.
As witnesses to this union, your presence and recognition are a gift that these two will always cherish. And as friends & family, you all know VERY WELL how much these two treasure their community, and how much they love and support you back.
There is a song called "Existence" by a band called Mia Antita - maybe you're heard of them. This song asks some important questions: Why are we here? Here, at the same time?
Well, when I look at the way you two look at each other, I can see the answer clear as day - we are here on this earth to Love one another.
The song goes on to say, "I don't believe in coincidence" And I don't think it's a coincidence, that this love story began years ago with a Misfits cover band; Jeremy walking into that Fateful practice with his bass, first time he laid eyes on Mickey (you were there too, Shua!), to fast forward, just this weekend, RIGHT Before Getting MARRIED, y'all rocked out the house again with a Misfits set! Bringing us full circle. But you two are not a misfit at all - you are clearly perfectly suited for each other.
The Best of Friends, whose connection blossomed over their shared love of music.
Perhaps you didn't realize, when you were recording your EP's together, that you were really recording a very special time in history. The history of a Pure Connection, galvanized by creativity.
Bonding as artists, forging a new path forward, and figuring out together how to support each other in a world that so frequently tries to tear us apart.
The world needs Love like this. Like the love you have for each other. By standing here in love & solidarity, you are part of the healing of this planet. Because you are showing us how to thrive. And you are sharing with us what it looks like to nurture the ones you love to express their creative joy.
If it wasn't for your strength and courage to love your community, if it wasn't for your fight to Build a Better Future, then you wouldn't even be here, in Love, surrounded by all of us.
And if that's not SAD - tell me, what is?
Because I don't want to live in a world where you two aren't going to Chico's every year to celebrate your anniversary, just like you did on your first date. I don't want to live in a world where Mickey isn't daily using that coffee mug you got at Saver's on your second date.
And I don't want to go one more minute without you two being married!
So! If you "feel like you can't eat without her, cant breathe, can't even sleep without her",
then it is time now, Jeremy, for you to profess in front of God and all these people exactly how you feel about this wonderful, authentic woman.
[take out vows from binder, handover]
The vows you make to each other today are the first verses in the lyrics of this beautiful new love song in your life called "marriage".
So, no pressure.
Jeremy, you go first. Make sure everyone can hear you, take your time, and start when you're ready.
[Vows are exchanged]
Absolutely beautiful, a round of applause please, for our lovely bride a groom!
And now, Let the Ringbearer come forward, please!
[ringbearer brings up rings, hands one to the bride, then to the groom, hugs are exchanged]
Your union today before these witnesses marks the beginning of a new life together in matrimony.
In one hand, please hold your partner's ring, a tangible symbol of the promises you make to each other this day. With your other hand, please take your beloved’s hand in your own, just as you take on this role as partners in marriage.
It will take trust, to know in your hearts that you truly want what is best for one another, and to learn a grow together.
It will take courage, to go forward together without knowing what the future holds.
It will take honesty, patience, and compromise, to nurture your bond each day.
May your marriage reflect all these things, and strengthen with each new challenge and triumph you face, both as a married couple and as self- actualized individuals.
Jeremy, do you understand the responsibility, and appreciate the commitment needed to support Mikaela through life's hardships and joys, through the good times and the bad, through sickness + in health?
[I do!]
Then please place the ring on Mikaela's Finger as a symbol of this loving promise.
[J places the ring on M’s finger]
And do you Mikaela, understand the responsibility, and appreciate the commitment needed to support Jeremy through lifers hardships and joys, through the good times and bad, through sickness and in health?
[I do!]
Please place the ring on Jeremy's finger as a symbol of this loving promise.
[M places the ring on J’s finger]
And so, by the authority vested in me by the American Marriage Ministries and the great state of Texas, I now pronounce you husband and wife!
You may now kiss the bride!
Felicidades ! !!
On behalf of our newlyweds, thank you everyone for being here! Whether you came from down the street or hours away, Jeremy and Mickey are forever overjoyed and grateful to have your unconditional love and support.
Our newlyweds, witnesses, and I are about to sign the legally binding document, making this all official. You are welcome to witness them and record the momentous signing.
Afterwards, our newlyweds and the wedding party will be going downtown to get their photographs taken, so they'll be occupied with that for awhile.
In the meantime, the newlyweds invite all of you for cocktail hour at the Cortez hotel. So feel free to meet up there and party with us to celebrate new beginnings.
Mr. DJ, play some funky music for us as we head over to the table for the signing please!
And now, without anything left to say, it is my distinct honor to present to the world -
For the very first time, as lawfully wedded husband and wife - Jeremy and Mikaela!!!
