Officiated by Alisha Oriel Anglin-Pagan at Minnewaska State Park in Kerhonkson, New York on October 7th, 2025. Witnessed by Ramil Casimir and Jessica Vega.
"Jerry and Kathy’s wedding at the waterfall in Minnewaska State Park was one I’ll never forget. I didn’t expect a hike that day but as someone who loves the outdoors, I was all for it! The fall foliage was absolutely breathtaking, and so were the bride and groom. The love in their eyes and the heartfelt vows they exchanged nearly brought a tear to mine. And since it was a public spot, I definitely didn’t expect a group of kids to cheer at the end when I made the pronouncement, such a sweet, spontaneous moment! What makes it even more special is that they live right in my town, so I know our paths will cross again. I truly adore those two and wish them a lifetime filled with love, happiness, and laughter. 💜"

Opening / Welcome
Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today at this beautiful place, surrounded by the beauty of creation, to witness and celebrate the union of Jerry & Katherine in marriage. Today, before God and these witnesses, they come to make a covenant of love — a promise that through every joy and every challenge, they will walk together as partners for life.
Invocation / Prayer
Let us begin with prayer. Heavenly Father, we thank you for bringing Jerry & Katherine together. We thank you for the love that has grown between them, for the strength you’ve given them through life’s challenges, and for the joy they share today. Bless their marriage, Lord, that it may always be centered in love, rooted in faith, and guided by your hand. Amen.
The Couple’s Story
Every love story is unique, but some feel like destiny from the very first glance.
For Jerry and Katherine, that glance happened at a baseball game—FDNY versus NYPD—when Jerry spotted her across the crowd and knew he had to make his move. Shy at first, she handed over her number anyway. Nerves hit hard as he called right from his seat, but a quick text to their mutual friend led to a simple offer: "Can I buy her a drink?"
That gesture melted the ice, and their story began.
Their first date? A Yankee game, rain-soaked and electric. Amid the downpour, they shared a kiss on the stadium screen, the roaring crowd, their unwitting witnesses—led to a moment etched in cheers and forever.
What bloomed from there is a love rooted in shared values, resilience, and unshakeable faith. Both had weathered storms before finding each other, emerging stronger together. Katherine cherishes Jerry's ambition, his quiet bravery, and the safe harbor he provides. Jerry treasures her fierce strength, her boundless kindness, and the humor that lifts any shadow. She surprises him with
heartfelt notes, whispering "it'll be okay," and drew him nearer to God in a way no one else could—culminating in their shared baptism, a sacred seal on their bond.
Today, we celebrate not just how they met, but the beautiful life they're building—one kiss, one note, one prayer at a time.
From sunflower surprises to quiet sacrifices, their days overflow with thoughtfulness, laughter, and unwavering faith. To Jerry, Katherine is God's greatest gift. To Katherine, Jerry is her steadfast protector—and the home where her heart belongs.
That's why they've chosen Awosting Falls as their sacred stage: her love for cascading waters meets his passion for untamed nature, together evoking freedom, renewal, and the wild beauty of a love that flows eternal.
And today, before God and all of us, they stand ready to seal it with a promise: this love, forever.
Scripture Reading – Ecclesiastes 4:9–12
As the Word reminds us: Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. … Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. This scripture reminds us that marriage is more than two people — it is two lives joined together, strengthened by God as the third strand, making the bond unbreakable.
The Vows
Katherine and Jerry, you have chosen to write your own vows. This is your chance to speak the promises of your hearts, before God and each other.
Ring Exchange
May I have the rings? These rings are a symbol of your unending love — a circle with no end, representing eternity. As you place this ring upon each other’s finger, let it remind you of the vows you make today, and of the love that will carry you through all the seasons of life. Repeat after me: With this ring, I give you my heart. I promise before God and these witnesses to love you, honor you, and remain faithful to you, for all the days of my life.
Pronouncement & Kiss
Having made these promises to one another before God and these witnesses, and by the authority entrusted to me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. What God has joined together, let no one separate. You may seal your vows with a kiss.
Closing Blessing & Encouragement
Let us close with a blessing. May the Lord bless you and keep you. May His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May He lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. And as you walk forward from this day, may your marriage always be filled with laughter, strengthened by faith, and sustained by the love you’ve promised each other here. It is my honor to present to you, for the very first time, Mr. and Mrs. Granillo!
