Invocation:
Welcome to our beloved and honored guests. We’re gathered here today in the presence of God and one another to celebrate the union of two souls Carol and Steven, as they make a promise of love and commit to one another. On this sacred day, we are reminded that love is one of God’s greatest gifts – a force that brings light, hope, and meaning to our lives. As we witness this commitment ceremony, let us open our hearts to the beauty of love and the divine presence that surrounds us.
What a gift and joy to find someone with whom to spend our life! Committing to share our brightest days and weather our darkest nights with someone and no small thing and cannot be done lightly. Commitment is about trust. It’s about patience, forgiveness, devotion, and hope. It’s what happens when a relationship becomes a home – a place of safety and love – to which each partner can return, again and again.
As we reflect on the profound power of trust and commitment to create strong and lasting families, we look to those who have been most touched by the love between Carol and Steven.
Love is patient and kind, it bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, hopes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Commitment is not only a promise between two people but also a covenant with God, who delights in every act of genuine love. Today, as you prepare to make your vows, remember that you are not alone. God walks with you, sustaining you love in times of joy and challenge.
Your relationship is a testament to faith, hope, and the power of believing in each other. As you join hands and hearts, you are writing a story that is uniquely yours – one that is overseen and blessed by God. Cherish each moment, forgive freely, and never forget the sacredness of the bond you share.
Declaration of Intent:
“Do you Carol, promise to spend your life with Steven, meeting each new joy and sorrow together, continuing to deepen your understanding of him, treating him with kindness and compassion, and welcoming each new chapter of life together with a spirit of curiosity and patience?”
Carol: I do.
“Do you Steven, promise to spend your life with Carol, meeting each new joy and sorrow together, continuing to deepen your understanding of her, treating her with kindness and compassion, and welcoming each new chapter of life together with a spirit of curiosity and patience?”
Steven: I do.
Carol and Steven will now exchange rings as a symbol of their love and commitment.” Carol, repeat after me:
I Carol, give you Steven this ring as a symbol of my love and commitment.
Steven, repeat after me:
I Steven, give you Carol this ring as a symbol of my love and commitment.
Pronouncement:
“With the trust of all here today, I now declare you joined in love. You may now kiss.
