"This was such a joy for me to perform this wedding.Debbie has been my best friend for 37 years Bob has been a good friend ro my soon to be husband for 20+ years. I wanted their ceremony to be perfect. I walked Bob down the isle, and gave him words of wisdom and encouragement along the way. Bob is an amazing guy. He knew right from the start he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Debbie. Something that surprised me and I consider myself blessed to have witnessed, was Bob breaking out into tears of joy the very moment he saw his bride, my best friend. Her beauty took his breath away. He said "She's so pretty!" He immediately started crying. He could not hardly keep his feet planted. Finally I said to him "you can go get her if you want to, you don't have to wait." A couple of seconds later he told her escort (her brother in law) give her to me, I'll take her from here. They had only made it half way up the seating isle. Theirs was a very small and intimate wedding. With all of the minor imperfections, it was a very perfect celebration. Their most treasured people were there. Their ceremony was lighthearted and yet very touching. In fact, Bob made one of their many jokes during the ceremony. *Note to self* Next time, have a microphone 🎤 people had a hard time hearing us."
INTRO
Welcome, beloved family and friends. We are gathered here today to celebrate the marriage of Bob & Debbie, two wonderful people who have touched each of our hearts and made each of our lives infinitely more interesting with their humor, wisdom, and take-no-shit spirit.
Today, they promise to spend the rest of their lives laughing, learning, and making life better for each other every day.
We often say that love is an action – something we must demonstrate daily. Well, marriage is like that, too. It’s consistent support through life’s ups and downs. It’s the big gestures, like planning a surprise weekend getaway. And the small gestures, like breakfast in bed or holding hands. It’s taking turns with the laundry and wiping away each other’s tears. It’s making time to cuddle on the couch, reviewing the budget, and saving that last slice of pie. It’s waking up every morning knowing this person is the one you want beside you. It’s putting each other first and never taking your love for granted. Bob & Debbie, you have both expressed to me that you feel that God has brought the two of you together. Being here and witnessing your relationship come together and grow into the wonderful one you have today, I couldn’t agree more.
