Officiated by Pamela Sue Gottling at Church in West Jordan, Utah on September 20th, 2025. Witnessed by Caleb and Brittini.
"In September 2025, I had the honor of officiating the wedding of Cody, my husband’s oldest son, and his bride, Cambria. About 70 family members and friends gathered to witness their vows, including Cody’s biological mother, which made the occasion even more special for our blended family. From the start, the ceremony was full of emotion. When Cambria began to cry during her vows, her love and sincerity touched everyone in the room. Many guests were moved to tears right along with her, creating a powerful sense of unity and shared joy. As Cody’s step-mom, standing with him in that role was a profound experience. Guiding him and Cambria through their promises was both an honor and a privilege. Afterward, so many guests approached me to say how beautiful and heartfelt the ceremony was, which reassured me that it had reflected the depth of their love and the spirit of the day. It was an experience I will cherish forever."
PROCESSIONAL (Music plays. Wedding party takes their places. As the bride enters, she is escorted down the aisle by [Brother]. The guests rise. When she reaches the front, the officiant asks:)
"Who gives this woman to be married to this man?"
([Brother] may respond, "I do," or "Her family and I do," followed by a hug, kiss, or handshake.
[Brother] then takes his seat as Cambria joins Cody at the altar.)

WELCOME
"Good afternoon, everyone. Thank you for being here — not just to witness a wedding, but to celebrate a beginning.
I’ll try not to get misty-eyed… but if I do, pretend it’s the lighting and not the fact that we’re all here watching something genuinely beautiful unfold.
Today is about two people who met, who saw each other clearly, and who said, 'Yes. You. You’re the one I want beside me.'
Cody and Cambria’s story is full of shared memories, laughter, and intentional love. What they’ve built together is strong — grounded in mutual respect, joy, clarity, and hope for the future. Because sometimes, love doesn’t need years to be real — just the right hearts, open and ready.
And so, we gather to honor this commitment, to support them in it, and to invite joy, faith, and celebration into this moment."

INVOCATION / OPENING PRAYER
"Let’s take a moment to center ourselves and invite God’s presence into this ceremony… Please bow your heads.
Heavenly Father, thank you for this joyful day, for Cody and Cambria’s love, and for the gift of beginnings. We ask that You bless their marriage with patience, laughter, strength, and grace. Be with them as they grow together in love and faith. Amen." ________________________________________
**READING FROM Jonathan Livingston Seagull
"Cody and Cambria have a love that feels steady and full of purpose — the kind of love that lifts each person higher.
Today’s reading comes from Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach — a story about freedom, individuality, and the quiet confidence that comes when you meet someone who truly sees you. It speaks beautifully to the spirit of the journey these two are beginning today."
“Don’t believe what your eyes are telling you. All they show is limitation. Look with your understanding, find out what you already know, and you’ll see the way to fly.”
“You have the freedom to be yourself, your true self, here and now — and nothing can stand in your way.”
“You will know the moment when you meet someone who shares your path. You will feel it in your heart before your mind catches up. That’s when you take flight together — not because you must, but because you choose to.”

REFLECTION & PERSONAL WORDS
"Cody and Cambria's love has already proven itself to be full of clarity, humor, and strength. Some relationships unfold over the years. Others arrive with a calm certainty that says, 'This is right. Let’s go.'
What we see between Cody and Cambria is that kind of clarity. They bring out the best in each other, sharing joy with ease and compassion. Their love is rooted in intention and flourishes in the quiet, everyday moments that create a strong foundation. They are building something new — not from a place of pressure, but from deep trust and the joy of choosing one another."

SHORT REFLECTION ON MARRIAGE:
Before we get to the “I do's, let’s talk for a minute about what marriage really is.
Marriage is... teamwork.
It’s showing up for each other—on the good days, the messy days, and all the ordinary ones in between.
It’s tag-teaming dishes, picking up each other’s slack when needed, and celebrating even the most minor victories—like agreeing on watching Love Island together.
It’s knowing when to speak, when to listen, and when to just sit together in comfortable silence.
It’s laughing at the same jokes, supporting each other’s dreams, and remembering that you’re on the same team—even when you disagree about where to get takeout.
It’s not always grand gestures. Sometimes, it’s sharing the last fry or knowing exactly when the other needs a hug. It’s choosing each other—over and over—with intention, with grace, and with love.
And today, that’s precisely what Cody and Cambria are doing. They’ve already built something strong and joyful—and today, they’re promising to keep building it, side by side.

DECLARATION OF INTENT
Marriage is a promise, not to be taken lightly, but joyfully and reverently. So, I ask:
Cody, do you take Cambria to be your wife — to walk beside her, grow with her, laugh with her, and love her, through whatever life may bring, from this day forward? (Cody responds: “I do.”)
Cambria, do you take Cody to be your husband — to walk beside him, grow with him, laugh with him, and love him, through whatever life may bring, from this day forward? (Cambria responds: “I do.”)

Please present the rings. (At this time, [Ring Bearer or Name] steps forward to present the rings to the officiant.)
"These rings are symbols — circles without end, representing a love that has no finish line. Let them be daily reminders of this commitment."
Cody, repeat after me as you place the ring on Cambria’s finger: With this ring, I give you my heart. I promise to walk with you always.
Cambria, repeat after me as you place the ring on Cody’s finger: With this ring, I give you my heart. I promise to walk with you always.

MOMENT OF REMEMBRANCE
"Before we offer the final blessing, let us take a quiet moment to honor those who are not with us today — whether through distance or because they are no longer with us in this life. Their presence is felt in our hearts, their love woven into the fabric of who we are.
Let’s pause for a moment of silence, in remembrance." (30 seconds)

BLESSING OVER THE MARRIAGE
"I invite you all to bow your heads with me as we offer a blessing for this marriage."
Lord, Bless this union with peace and joy. May Cody and Cambria always find strength in one another, even in the face of life’s storms. May they be quick to forgive, generous with laughter, and gentle with their words.
Let their home be a sanctuary — a place of welcome, warmth, and grace. Surround them with love and lift them with faith. Let their love be a beacon, not only to each other but to everyone around them. Amen
