Welcome, everyone!
We are gathering today on this joyful occasion to celebrate love, laughter, and the union between Moises Sanchez and Rachel Cornog on their wedding day.
Each of you here represents a piece of Moises and Rachel’s lives. Whether you came into their lives many years ago, or more recently, your presence here is a gift to them – and I am certain that your being here means a lot. So, on behalf of Bride and Groom, I thank you for sharing in this momentous occasion in their lives.
This contract is not to be entered into lightly but thoughtfully and seriously, and with a deep realization of its obligations and responsibilities. Please remember that love, loyalty, and understanding are the foundations of a happy and enduring future together.
To be 'married' is the joining of two people in matrimony. Tradition may indicate that marriage requires taking someone else's name, or to leave previous, separate lives behind, in order to become like one.
But while marriage is, indeed, the joining of two hearts and two souls, it is also the joining of two individuals. Two people with their own thoughts, beliefs, and their own identities; identities which are not lost simply by the commitment made to love and support one another.
On the contrary, marriage allows two separate individuals to collectively become greater than the sum of their parts, while also allowing such a supportive relationship to continue to have the complete freedom to be themselves.
Their two hearts beat on their own, but the shared love allows them to also beat FOR one another. Moises and Rachel recognize that marriage is the culmination of their two loves, which are simply shared as one, which continues to grow stronger as the days go on in this ultimate journey of togetherness.
