Sylvia Guardiola And Walter Hamilton’s Wedding Wedding Ceremony Script

Welcome Friends, Family, and loved ones! We are gathered together today in the sight of God and of each other as witnesses to celebrate the happy and beautiful marriage of Wally and Sylvia.

Before we begin, let us bow our heads and ask God’s blessing for them.

Heavenly Father,

We ask your blessing upon Wally and upon Sylvia. We come to you knowing that you have created them for a purpose, and we’re confident, that your will for their lives contains some amazing triumphs and miracles for them as they walk together in your name. We ask that you bless them, protect them, and keep them with you, and that you hold us accountable to do the same, Lord.

In your Holy name we pray,

Amen

We are here today to see Wally and Sylvia LEGALLY get married. I emphasized legally because in my eyes, they have been married for as long as I have known them and I’m sure for most of you all as well. It’s been a blessing to see them grow and interact with each other as friends to eachother and as a couple. Whether it’s sitting out in their driveway enjoying the fresh air with some wine and whiskey, or seeing Sylvia in the front window of their home, working and waving at my babies, while Wally is outside watering their plants, these two have been living the married life already. As far as I’m concerned, this is just a big party that we all got to dress up and attend! All jokes aside, I’ve seen their commitment to one another, their faith and trust, and their patience and above it all, I’ve seen the love that these two wonderful people have for each other. In the book of 1st Corinthians, St. Paul provides us with a beautiful description of the kind of love that a marriage needs. He writes, “Love is patient. Love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”

Wally and Sylvia, I want you to remember that description of what love should be like in marriage because even though all of us here are supporting you and rooting for you, life throws us unexpected battles, and in the middle of those battles, it’s the kind of love St. Paul was describing, that is going to get you through it and stronger than before.

Knowing this, it’s time to declare yourselves to one another.

Do you Walter Hamilton take this woman, Sylvia Guardiola to be your lawfully wedded wife from this day forward, to have and to hold, in good times and bad, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health. Will you love, honor, and cherish her for as long as you both shall live?
