Traffic had delayed me by nearly an hour, and I arrived expecting anxious faces and perhaps a bit of frustration. Instead, I was welcomed with open arms and warm smiles. Annie and William weren’t concerned about the clock — they were simply eager to begin the next chapter of their love story. Annie’s sister arrived shortly after, and with everyone gathered in their cozy living room, the ceremony began. There was something intimate and meaningful about standing in the heart of their home, surrounded by memories, photographs, and the quiet hum of a house that had already witnessed so many of their shared moments. Though I’d only had a few hours to prepare their ceremony, I felt no nerves, only peace. It’s funny how love has a way of settling the soul. By the grace of God, the words came easily, and the ceremony unfolded like a whispered prayer between kindred spirits. My partner, Bethlehem, captured it all through his lens, as he always does. His photography is more than images; it’s a way of preserving the heartbeat of these precious moments. It’s a blessing to share this work together. There weren’t any surprises that day — except for the sweetest news that I’ll be officiating another ceremony for Annie and William on June 7th. A reaffirmation of vows, a celebration of enduring love, and another chance to stand beside them as they promise forever. What I loved most about their ceremony wasn’t the setting or the simplicity, but the undeniable truth that love doesn’t require perfection — it only asks for presence, devotion, and two hearts willing to weather life together.
