Dear friends and family,Queridos amigos y familiares,

Welcome! It is an absolute honor to stand here today as Jose and Jamie start this crazy, beautiful journey together.¡Bienvenidos! Me siento honrada de estar aquí hoy mientras Jose y Jamie comienzan esta loca y hermosa aventura juntos.

Jose, you’re not just my cousin—you’re like my little brother. And let me tell you, it has been quite the ride! Even though I’m 12 years older, you always insisted on tagging along, playing, and just being around me. And if I’m being honest, you were the most annoying little kid ever. But somehow, I still loved having you around.Jose, no eres solo mi primo, eres como mi hermanito. Y ha sido todo un viaje. Aunque tengo 12 años más que tú, siempre insististe en seguirme a todas partes, jugar y simplemente estar conmigo. Y si soy honesta, eras el niño más fastidioso del mundo. Pero de alguna manera, me encantaba tenerte cerca.

I’ve known you since before you were even born—when you were just a little bump in your mom’s belly. From that moment on, you were already a part of my heart. And even though you’ve grown up, in my eyes, you’re still that little kid I left behind in Venezuela.Te he conocido desde antes de que nacieras, cuando aún estabas en la barriga de tu mamá. Desde ese momento, ya eras parte de mi corazón. Y aunque has crecido, en mis ojos sigues siendo ese niño que dejé en Venezuela.

But life had other plans, and in 2014, I had to leave our home country. I didn’t even get to say goodbye properly—I just left and texted your mom from the plane. It was tough. But God, in His kindness, made sure our paths crossed again, and here we are, reunited in this country. And, surprise surprise, you’re still stuck to me like glue—just like when we were kids. I guess some things never change!Pero la vida tenía otros planes, y en 2014 tuve que dejar nuestro país. Ni siquiera pude despedirme bien, solo envié un mensaje a tu mamá desde el avión. Fue duro. Pero Dios, en su bondad, se aseguró de que nuestros caminos se cruzaran de nuevo, y aquí estamos, reunidos en este país. Y sorpresa, sorpresa, sigues pegado a mí como chicle, igual que cuando éramos niños. ¡Supongo que algunas cosas nunca cambian!

And now, here I am, officiating your wedding. It’s honestly surreal. I’m so proud of the man you’ve become, even if you’re still a little annoying sometimes. And I couldn’t be happier to welcome Jamie into our wonderfully crazy family.Y ahora, aquí estoy, oficiando tu boda. Es surrealista. Estoy tan orgullosa del hombre en el que te has convertido, aunque a veces sigas siendo un poquito fastidioso. Y no podría estar más feliz de darle la bienvenida a Jamie a nuestra maravillosa y loca familia.

The first time I met Jamie, I knew she was different. I could tell right away that you two were made for each other. She is an incredible woman—beautiful, kind, sweet, and full of love. Honestly, she’s one of the best people I’ve ever met. Which makes me wonder… how on earth did you manage to get her?La primera vez que conocí a Jamie, supe que era diferente. Me di cuenta de inmediato de que ustedes dos estaban hechos el uno para el otro. Ella es una mujer increíble: hermosa, amable, dulce y llena de amor. I even saved her number in my phone as "Jamie Delacierta" because I knew from the start that you two were meant to be together. And here we are, celebrating your love and commitment.Incluso guardé su número en mi teléfono como "Jamie Delacierta" porque desde el principio supe que ustedes dos estaban destinados a estar juntos.
