ABOUT THIS WEDDING

"When I first met my niece and goddaughter Jazmia, even though she was a week old and the size of a loaf of bread, I knew we had a special bond. When she asked me if I'd officiate her wedding, I was honored and overwhelmed with joy. Of course on the day of the wedding, there were initial nerves and butterflies. But the moment I saw Storm King & Bull Hill Mountains and the Hudson River from the altar, I knew God placed me exactly where I was supposed to be and that moment in time and everything would be just fine. When the procession started and the music was queued, I was overcome by a calm and joy seldom felt in life. From the moment Jazmia and her husband to be, Michael, turned and held hands, everything just flowed. I got to share three short and personal stories about the first time I met both of them and my most memorable experience with them when they became a couple. The first time I took Mike surfing was a crowd pleaser. I also mentioned how appropriate it was that the first publicly performed miracle by Jesus was during a wedding celebration and why that is so important, especially on their special day. Everything just flowed naturally. The ceremony was heart felt, intimate, funny, emotional. The wedding was, in a word, perfect. Officiating my goddaughter's wedding stands as one of the greatest moments of my life."
