5:40 pm – groomsmen line up at front while Adam escorts his parents and grandfather (if grandpa makes it!) to their seats at the front. He then stays up front.

5:45 pm – bridesmaids and sign bearers walk down the aisle to their places at front.

Then Angie’s dad escorts her down the aisle; Angie takes Adam’s arm and they face Tyler.

Hello everyone. Welcome, and thank you for being here today.

Today is a celebration of love, of commitment, of friendship, of family, and of these two people – Adam and Angie – who are in it for forever.

Family and friends, this is a day to celebrate Adam and Angie. It’s also a day to pay tribute to all of you. For knowing you and interacting with you has helped to make our bride and groom who they needed to be to find each other. We would not be here today without your love.

We have all loved in our lifetimes, and in this moment, we’re reminded that the ability to love is the very best part of our humanity.

In the words of the poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning: “I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you.”

Adam and Angie, we’re all here to hope with you, to support you, to be proud of you, and to remind you that love is not an event; it’s a process.

This journey will be at times richly rewarding and extremely difficult, but, most importantly, it will be a journey you take together.

This journey takes trust and loyalty, to know in your hearts that you want only the best for each other.

It takes dedication, to stay open to one another, to learn and grow.

And it takes faith, to go forward together without knowing what the future holds.

Adam, Angie, and Nadiya (Nah-dee-yah), please step forward.

Over the past five years, the three of you have gotten to know each other, making many trips between Washington and South Dakota, and vacationing together in Florida. Nadiya was the first person Adam turned to when he decided he wanted to propose to Angie.

Today, Nadiya, your support of this marriage is clear. Angie joins this family circle as your father's wife, as a friend that you can count on and a woman who loves both of you very much.

In that spirit and as a symbol of trust, loyalty, dedication, and faith, I invite you three to bring light to your family.

You are here to affirm the choices you make every day: to stand as life’s partners, and to love each other as you have done through all of life’s adventures and surprises.

The ring is an ancient symbol of eternity; it has no beginning and no end. Your rings are a precious symbol of your commitment in marriage. They remind you of who you are, where you’ve been, and where you’re going. Angie’s ring has additional meaning, as it was worn for 65 years by Adam’s maternal grandmother.
