Family and Friends, thank you all for joining us today to share in this wonderful occasion. Today we are here together to unite Katherine Louise Frost and Bryan Michael Windzigl in marriage.

For those of you here for the first time, Katie and Bryan wish to say “Welcome!”. For those of you here for a second time,”Welcome back!” We figured since these two have been hooking up for a while now, it was time to make this legally binding and legit!

Before we proceed any further, I would also like to take this moment to declare dibs on the first bridesmaid (happens to be my wife).

Normally it would be quite dangerous to give me a microphone and a captive audience, so today we not only gather to celebrate Katie & Bryan's love, but also their great courage.

Anecdote

I've had the great fortune to know Katie some 21 years, when she and the first bridesmaid down there went to cosmetology school together. We've been able to celebrate many occasions since with her, often right here in this very spot. In 20+ years there have been a few tears, but those moments have been far outweighed by many, many more laughs.

Bryan I did not meet until they began dating. In this shorter amount of time, we have also managed to share many gatherings filled with laughter, love, good music, and a few good cocktails.

Many of you gathered here today have shared similar moments and gatherings... many of us here shared these moments together. Like the Wedding Olympics back in mid-July... good times!

I only tell you these things because I feel it is important to understand that when I express how happy I am that they have found each other in this crazy, maddening world, that it is not some anonymous statement from someone who doesn't know them. Like the rest of you, I have found their love and companionship to be a gift. And as they prepare to spend their futures together, all of us will benefit from having their love in our own lives.

And while this marriage is a covenant between these two, Katie & Bryan, those of us gathered here today can share in their joy by continuing to support them with our love and friendship in return.

Anecdote

Successful relationships are not about getting others to love you the way you expect or think you deserve to be loved, its more about finding that one person who is fulfilled in love the way you know how to give it. And then they give it right back in their own way. Somewhere in this exchange, somewhere in between is happiness, wholeness, and togetherness.

The exchange of rings signifies a promise to one another, a promise to share this exchange of love and a promise to share togetherness.

Mark Twain wrote: “It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness.”

The fact of the matter? Life is messy. When things are going great, often there seems to be a storm brewing. And when things aren't going so well, there are certainly better days ahead. When you find someone to hold you, support you, through all those peaks and valleys, then you know true love. You know companionship.

So you must not waste energy on trivial matters, go make your lives together an adventure! Go enjoy! Go and make happiness!
