Friends, family, and loved ones. The day is finally here! About time you two! We are all here to witness the marriage of Tim and Shayna before our Lord Jesus Christ. We gather around them to lift them up with love and happiness as they begin their lives together.

Who gives away this woman to married to this man?

I would like to ask everyone here…if anyone has any objections to the marriage of this couple, speak now or forever hold your peace.

Reading

The Bible says a lot about marriage and how it is a sacred union between 2 people. There are a ton of verses, but a favorite of mine is Matthew 19:4-6

And He answered and said, “Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said ‘FOR THIS REASON MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND HIS MOTHER AND BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, no person is to separate.

Tim, will you have this woman to be your wife. To love her even if she prefers to cuddle with the dogs. To cherish her when she doesn’t correct the socks before you put them in the wash. To honor and keep her, in sickness and in health; forsaking all others, for as long as you both shall live?

Tim - I do.

Shayna…it’s your turn now.

Shayna, will you have this man to be your husband? To love him despite the fact that he eats all of the cereal in the world. To cherish him though he thinks Lil’ Dickie is the greatest rapper. To honor and keep him, in sickness and in health; forsaking all others, for as long as you both shall live?

Exchanging of the Rings

May I have the rings please? Thank you.

Choosing a wedding ring is a big decision, and with a ll of the options available, it is not always and easy one. The wedding rings are, of course, circular in shape and this in itself carries a symbolic meaning for this couple getting married. A circle:

• Has no beginning or end and is therefore infinite.

• Is endless, eternal, just the way love should be.

• Is round like the sun, like the eye, like arms that embrace.

• Reminds us of endless cycles of life and love.

Tim take the ring to place on Shayna’s finger and repeat after me.

With this ring, I thee wed, and vow you my love, now and forever.

Pronouncement

Shayna and Tim, you’ve professed your love for one another in front of a wonderful group of family and friends and loved ones. And with the power vested in me by the American Marriage Ministries (AKA the internet), I am honored to pronounce you as husband and wife. You may kiss your bride!
