"Hope and Taylor met on Bumble in Iowa. Hope and I were roommates through nursing school and then the three of us all moved in together. Hope and Taylor ended up moving to Colorado after we got engaged (luckily they were already planning on having the ceremony there at an Air BnB) "

Welcome friends and family of Hope and Taylor
Please be seated
As most of you know Im Brooke and
This is the first wedding I’ve ever officiated so Please, take it easy on me…
Now it’s pretty obvious they picked me to officiate because I am by far the funniest person they know
Well actually mannys downright hilarious so that’s not it. No I’m pretty sure it’s because I called dibs at some point
Anyway,
We are going to start this off with a few orders of business.
First I’d like everyone to double check their phones are on silent.
*pause*
Go on take them out and check. No one wants to be that person whose phone goes off in the middle of Taylor crying through his vows.
Okay everyones phones silent and put away?
Perfect.
Next order of business now that all the phones will for sure be quiet I would like to initiate a moment of silence to appreciate where we are right now.
Everyone close your eyes.
Take a relaxed breath
and be still for the next few seconds as we all take in the fact that we are here, surrounded by an extraordinary group of people, to celebrate these two remarkable individuals.
*pause for like 3 Mississippi*
Aaand cut well thank you all for that.
Now on to more important stuff I carefully scripted and definitely did not plagiarize off the internet
Thank you all for being here on this joyous day as we bear witness to this declaration of love between Hope Skeen and Taylor Chapman.
Theirs is a love story I am honored to be apart of today.
Rather than viewing this day as the beginning I think its more accurately the next chapter, one of many and one that will be affectionately re-read and looked back on for years to come.
Hope and I met in college. We lived on the same floor and were both nursing/psych majors. We survived nursing school together (with most of our sanity intact) and when we moved to Des Moines we both got on dating apps. Spoiler alert I stayed on these dating apps for years, but Hope over here had the audacity to go on just one single online date to find the love of her life.
Just rude if you ask me.
Looking back at the introduction of this love story I remember not seeing Hope like at all. We went from being basically attached at the hip in nursing school to me feeling like I had a ghost for a roommate because she was spending so much time over at Taylor’s. Now Taylor seemed nice enough, but I didn’t really get to know him until the 3 of us moved in together. Which is the story of how I got tricked into living with a guy who puts green olives on pizza. (Honestly who does that?)
Anyway it took no time at all before the love between Hope & Taylor became the gold standard in my eyes. They operate on such a level of compatibility it’s remarkable. I mean I’m pretty sure the worst argument I ever heard while living with them was the time Taylor decided to eat cottage cheese as a snack for the third time that day at 10pm.
I watched their relationship flourish while going on my own dates searching for literally anything that could come remotely close to what these two have.
Hope told me I was being too picky but I plainly saw the fairytale unfolding before me with her and Taylor.
It was plain to see they were made for one another and I knew this day would come eventually.
Pause
As I said this is not the beginning of their love story, but the next chapter.
Today’s chapter is titled Marriage.
Now not much will change after today because Hope and Taylor know each other. The good, the bad,
the dogs, and the cat.
After years of living with each other (and me), They stand here fully knowing and accepting each other for who they are and choosing to spend the rest of their lives together.
These two beautiful humans are some of the best people you’ll ever meet and everyone here knows how lucky they are to be included in this exclusive celebration of their love.
Hope & Taylor: you have chosen to write your vows, and it is with these words you express your binding promises to love, honor, and cherish one another. If you are ready to make these promises to each other I invite you now to face each other and declare your intentions. When you're ready you may begin
“Hope & Taylor read vows”
RINGS:
Thank you for sharing your vows with all of us. The rings you are about to place on each other's fingers are symbols of the love you expressed. They will remind you of the vows you have just spoken, and of the eternal love that you have for one another."
Hope place the ring on Taylor’s finger and repeat after me:
As this ring encircles your finger…From this moment forward...So will my love forever encircle you...You will never walk alone...My heart will be your shelter...My arms will be your home...We will walk thru life as partners & best friends...I promise to do my best to love, cherish and accept you...Just the way you are...I give you my heart until the end of time...I have no greater gift to give."

"By the power given to me by the American Marriage Ministries and by the State of Colorado, I now pronounce you Husband and Wife. You may kiss each other."
