Welcome everyone, and on behalf of Ken and Rose, thank you for joining them today as they celebrate their marriage.

What greater thing for two persons than to feel than they are joined together; to strengthen each other each day, to rest on each other when there is sorrow, to help each other in need, to share joy, and to be one with each other – – whatever life has to offer.

Ken and Rose, today begins a life of giving and sharing, nurturing and support, allowing each other the freedom to change and grow as individuals, while developing your mutual spirit as time goes by.

Blaire will now read from 1 Corinthians.

In the art of marriage, the little things are the big things. It is about establishing a relationship in which your independence is equal, dependence is mutual, and obligation is reciprocal.

Today your family and friends are gathered together to celebrate your union on our beautiful Hilton Head Island. We are privileged to witness two dear friends, two exceptional individuals, committing to share a lifetime together.

Ken and Rose, you are about to make your promises to one another. You will find that as you live by these vows over the years, investing your time, love, and commitment to one another, the happy times of your life will be twice as joyous, because you'll share these joys in marriage.

Today Rose and Ken are exchanging vows of their love, but they are also exchanging promises for life; of their friendship, their compassion, and their devoted adoration of one another.

ROSE - Kenneth, I take you to be my husband, I promise to choose you every day, to love you in word and deed, to do the hard work of making now into always.

To laugh with you, cry with you and grow old with you. To honor the divinity in you, of you, and around you.

To be your kin and your partner in all of life’s adventures. Loving what I know of you and trusting what I don’t yet know. I give you my hand. I can conquer the world with one hand, as long as you’re holding the other.

I give you my love. I give you myself.

May you never steal, lie or cheat.

But if you must steal, then steal away my sorrows.

And if you must lie, lie with me all the nights of my life.

And if you must cheat, then please cheat death, because I couldn't live a day without you. For ours is an everlasting love.

Will you come away with me?

Ken - I vow you the first cut of my meat, the first sip of my wine,

from this day it shall only be your name I cry out in the night and into your eyes that I smile each morning; I shall be a shield for your back as you are for mine, never shall a grievous word be spoken about us, for our marriage is sacred between us and no stranger shall hear my grievance.

Above and beyond this, I will cherish and honor you through this life

and into the next.

in accordance with the traditions of Moses and Israel.

Rose, please repeat after me.

By this ring, you are sanctified to me as my husband in accordance with the traditions of Moses and Israel.

as a seal upon your arm

for love is infinitely strong.

Many waters cannot quench love

no flood can sweep it away,

I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine.

Ken and Rose, I leave you with the following words: We all want to wish you both much love and happiness as you begin your new journey. Remember to keep laughter in your life and love will never be far behind.

May all that you are, always be in love. May all that is love, always be in you. May your love be as beautiful on each day you share as it is on this day of celebration; and may each day you share be as precious to you as the day you first fell in love.

May you always see and encourage the best in each other. May the challenges life brings your way make your marriage even stronger, and may you always be each other's best friend and greatest love.

Ken and Rose, you have pledged your faith to each other in the company of your families and your circle of friends. By the power vested in me by American Marriage Ministries and the State of South Carolina, I now pronounce you husband and wife!
