INVOCATION:
OFFICIANT:
“Friends and family, we have come together today to honor the love between William and Kenzie as they take their vows of marriage.
The promises of marriage are many.
Marriage promises companionship and laughter, challenge and joy, adventure, and the peace we experience through unity. It is a bond we build of the strongest faith in another person and their love for us. An ability to look at our lover with eyes unclouded and heart open. To see them as they are, and to see our truest self in their love and acceptance.
The love between William and Kenzie is mighty! I am sure you can feel it from where you sit – radiating outwards from these two beautiful people like sunlight. Their love lights up everything they touch and every person they meet.
This is a love that does not stop where their embrace ends, and this love does not belong only to William and Kenzie. This is a universal love. A love that wraps itself around all of us. It connects all of us to this fragile and vibrant planet. A love that is the very Source of life. A universal love, a universal light, a universal life that transcends all, without beginning or end.
A love of absolute abundance.
The marriage that William and Kenzie will begin today is a manifestation of this love. And it will be a mighty one too! Remember that although you will not spend every day with them, your love will reach William and Kenzie wherever they are. Your love will hold them up and light their path, as they meet each new day together with curiosity, taking comfort in each other and their community, as they explore the unknown mysteries of the future.”
[PAUSE]
****Nod to Tiffany
OFFICIANT:
“Who gives this woman to be wed to this man?”
• Tiffany: “I do”
o She gives her a kiss and hands her off to William and then Tiffany sits down.
o Once seated. I will read a poem.
[PAUSE]
OFFICIANT: “I would like to read a poem that I feel fits this very moment. It is called “Here’s to the Right Now” “
Here’s To the Right Now
You’re surrounded by your loved ones
And all are wishing you well
As you create a brand-new chapter
In the story that’s yours to tell.
We talk about the memories
You have yet to make together
And the moments you’ve already shared
To be carried with you forever.
But take the time to live today,
As your marriage begins,
Look around and soak it up,
The moment we are in.
For this is where the magic starts
When you both say your vows.
You pledge to spend your lives as one
Because of the love you feel now.
OFFICIANT: “Thank you and now on to the good stuff”
DECLARATION OF INTENT:
OFFICIANT TO THE COUPLE:
"William and Kenzie, please join hands, look at one another now and remember this moment in time."
[PAUSE]
OFFICIANT TO WILLIAM: ****Look to William and nod
"Will you William, keep Kenzie as your favorite person - to laugh with her, go on adventures with her, support her through life's tough moments, be proud of her, grow old with her, and find new reasons to love her every day?"
WILLIAM TO KENZIE:
"I will."
OFFICIANT TO KENZIE: ****Look to Kenzie and nod
"Will you, Kenzie, keep William as your favorite person - to laugh with him, go on adventures with him, support him through life's tough moments, be proud of him, grow old with him, and find new reasons to love him every day?"
KENZIE TO WILLAM:
"I will."
OFFICIANT TO THE COUPLE: ****Nod to them both
"Will you, William and Kenzie, be each other's partners from this day forward? Will you bring out the best in one another, share your happiest moments together, and love each other absolutely - for the rest of this lifetime and for whatever may come next?"
COUPLE TO THE OFFICIANT:
"We will."
RING EXCHANGE:
“May I have the rings.”
****I will hold them up for a moment then hand to each one as they say their vows.
OFFICIANT TO THE COUPLE:
"You've both chosen to wear rings as a reminder of these promises. People often say wedding bands are a perfect circle, with no beginning and no end. But these rings did have a beginning. The stones were formed a long time ago deep within the earth.
Eventually, a series of lucky events caused them to rise to the surface, where someone dug them up. Metal was then liquefied in a furnace - molded, cooled, and painstakingly polished. Something beautiful was made from raw elements.
Love is like that. It comes from humble beginnings, and through a combination of serendipity and effort, imperfect beings shape it into something extraordinary. It is the process of making something beautiful where there was once nothing at all. As you look at these rings over the years, I hope you remember that you've created something invaluable, and just as I know you'll protect these rings, I'm confident you'll protect the commitments you've made to one another today."
OFFICIANT TO WILLIAM: ****Look to William and nod. Hand him her ring
"William, as you place this ring on Kenzie's finger, repeat these words after me: “This ring symbolizes my love for you and the commitments we made today."
William: “This ring symbolizes my love for you and the commitments we made today."
OFFICIANT TO KENZIE: ****Look to Kenzie and nod. Hand her his ring
"Kenzie, as you place this ring on William's finger, repeat these words after me: “This ring symbolizes my love for you and the commitments we made today."
Kenzie: “This ring symbolizes my love for you and the commitments we made today."
OFFICIANT: “Ok the hard part is over, now to the finale. We will now confirm their love and finalize their commitment to each other.”
CONFIRMATION OF LOVE:
OFFICIANT TO THE COUPLE
"May your love be one based on freedom. For though our hands may touch, it is our hearts that hold.
When you hold love within your heart, you radiate a light, which shall brighten all the days of your life and beyond.
Everything we truly love, becomes a part of us forever. So, take your time with each other. Let your love's seed grow and mature with the seasons, to provide you with warmth, serenity, joy, and acceptance throughout all the years of your marriage.
Love is not a wall; it is a bridge. Love does not confine; it sets you free. It leads, as a pathway, winding to places unknown and mysterious. With love to light the way, you can meet any challenge, together."
PRONOUNCEMENT:
OFFICIANT TO THE COUPLE
“William and Kenzie, through your words today, you have joined together in matrimony.
Because you have exchanged your vows before these witnesses, have pledged your commitment each to the other, and have declared the same by joining hands and exchanging rings, I can now say by the power vest in me by the state of South Carolina, I now pronounce that you are husband and wife.”
“William, you may kiss your bride!”
RECESSIONAL:
