Wilson - Eaton Wedding

The Wedding of Scott Wilson & Kaylin Eaton

Officiated by Jason C Haire at The Barn at Four Pines Ranch in Crosby, Texas on March 6th, 2024. Witnessed by Amy Haire and Camryn Eaton.

ABOUT THIS WEDDING

"It turned out to be a beautiful wedding out in the country. They had several little wedding "stages" set up all over the woods. Wedding time was set right at sunset, so the sun was shining through the trees. It was short and sweet. The groom got emotional when he saw his bride. No hiccups and no issues throughout the evening. It was a pleasure to oversee and conduct the ceremony."

Scott Wilson And Kaylin Eaton’s Wedding Wedding Ceremony Script

Introduction: Bride/Groom face me

OFFICIANT (TO CONGREGATION):Welcome..Welcome..

Family, friends, others who just came for the free food and booze, welcome and please be seated

Scott and Kaylin asked me to be your host for today’s festivities. my name is Jason Haire. I’ve known Kaylin for a little while now. She used to live with us and became family…our adopted daughter. And Scott for some time also. I remember this red headed kid coming to pick up Kaylin from the house for a date. I was told to behave. not sure why. But.. Two very nice young people setting out on a life-long path of marriage and family. Would you all agree? they have requested a Quick wedding ceremony and I was threatened within an inch of my life. So we will make this short and sweet. should be done in about an hour or so. or quicker. Scott gave me that look. Let’s keep going.

It’s traditional for the officiant, that would be me, to give a speech about love and commitment and two hearts becoming one...Blah blah blah. We have all heard that mushy stuff before. So Let’s take a different route. I came across this and thought why not let’s just throw it out there and see if it sticks. It’s called “And I have You!”

Rain has drops, Sun has shine, Moon has beams, That makes you mine, Rivers have banks, Sands for shores, Hearts have heartbeats, That makes me yours, Needles have eyes, Though pins may prick, Elmer has glue, To make things stick, Winter has Spring, Stockings have feet, Pepper has mint, To make it sweet, All in all this much is true, You have me and I have you. He will be more than just her husband, He will also be her friend. She will be more than just his wife, She will be his soulmate until the end

declaration of Intent

Scott and Kaylin exchanged their vows in private before we started today’s festivities. Talk about pedal to the metal. Slow down son. you did say short and sweet...but seriously. It is what it is. It’s faster this way. Let’s move on. Marriage deepens and enriches every facet of life. Happiness is fuller, memories are fresher, commitment is stronger, even though anger is felt more strongly, it passes away more quickly. When two people pledge their love and care for each other in marriage, they create a spirit unique unto themselves which binds them closer than any spoken or written words. Marriage is a promise, a potential made in the hearts of two people who love each other and takes a lifetime to fulfill."

Now we will move on and combine the vows and rings – You know since they already exchanged their vows without us…earlier...you know by themselves. Anyway…

OFFICIANT: may I have the rings? (Bride/Groom face each other)

A wedding ring is not only the symbolism of the wedding taking place here today, but it marks the lifelong commitment and dedication the couple share toward each other. It is the symbol of devotion toward one another. A wedding ring is the emblem of love between two people, to love and cherish each other till death separates them. The wedding ring is circular and worn on the fourth finger of the left hand. This particular arrangement has a reason of its own. The logic in wearing them on the fourth finger of the hand is that the vein of the fourth finger is believed to be directly leading to the heart of the wearer and moves along with the heart. We all know that the circle is never-ending; there’s no exit to it. There’s no beginning or end, hence symbolizing infinity which is how love between married couples should be, endless and infinite.

Place rings on each other fingers and Repeat after me.

OFFICIANT: kaylin - This ring and vow is a symbol of my commitment and how you've got me wrapped around your finger." "I promise love you, honor you, but not obey. That’s a little creepy. I vow that I will put up with whatever you can throw at me—as long as you put up with my mess too

OFFICIANT: scott - This ring and vow is a symbol of my commitment and how you've got me wrapped around your finger." "I promise to love you, honor you, and are you sure obey is out of the question? I vow that I will put up with whatever you can throw at me—as long as you put up with my mess too

Will you, Kaylin and Scott, be each other’s partner from this day forward? Will you bring out the best in one another? Share your happiest moments together? Even the bad moments? And Love each other unconditionally for the rest of this lifetime?

The Couple: We Do! (Bride/Groom Turn to face Congregation)

OFFICIANT (TO CONGREGATION): Please stand. Now it’s your turn to answer with *We Will*. Within the circle of its love, marriage encompasses all of life’s most important relationships. A wife and a husband are each other’s best friend, confidant, lover, teacher, listener, and critic. Throughout this ceremony, Kaylin and Scott have vowed, in our presence, to be loyal and loving towards each other. They have forever cemented the bond between them with words spoken, promises made and an understanding that a truly loving marriage takes two. Will you, their family and friends gathered here today, help them, support them and encourage them when the hard times try to creep in?

We’re getting close to the end folks. You may be seated.

OFFICIANT (TO COUPLE): Bride/Groom face me

in this hectic and Crazy world where you are pulled in a thousand different directions, don’t forget to slow down every once in a while to appreciate the little things... the important things. Enjoy each other. enjoy that baby – and your new, wonderful life together. You have pledged your vows, and confirmed your continued commitment and love for each other. Now it’s time to seal it with a kiss.

Photo op time people – get your cameras ready!

Scott and Kaylin - You may kiss your Better half…

Alright people calm down…calm down….

Now to make it official…

Pronouncement

OFFICIANT (TO CONGREGATION):
