ABOUT THIS WEDDING
"Being asked to officiate my own grandsons wedding was such an honor and heart warming experience. Being my first ceremony, it definitely gave me some jitters but I got through it though there were some very emotional moments towards the end where I got a little choked up pronouncing my very own grandson Ryan and his beautiful bride Belinda Mr. & Mrs. Ryan Hall. Believe it or not I think my thirty years of experience officiating football as a referee gave me a step up in approaching this new avocation. I felt comfortable directing the ceremony and administering the vows. With about thirty family members and guests present for the ceremony here at mine and Peggy's home in Victoria, Texas it was somewhat informal but intimate. Ryan actually proposed to Belinda Christmas eve in front of her family then suggested "Let's get a license and get married on New Years eve". She said yes to both and here we are. At that point we started asking who can we get to perform the ceremony on such short notice? Someone suggested wouldn't it be special if Ryan's' Grandfather, Bob (that's me) were to do it. Thanks to the AMM Organization that became possible. Ryan's brother Garrett acted as his best man and Kynsie, the brides twelve year old daughter acted as maid of honor. Peggy miraculously put the entire wedding together in only five days as only she could do. It was wonderful and came off without a hitch. Belinda's Mom & Dad took care of catering food and drink for all as well as helping get a bunch of Christmas trees and decorations for the back yard, Peggy made the wedding cake, hors d'oeuvres, organized the ceremony, took care of rings, made all flower arrangements of course her years of experience as a wedding planner really helped. It was fast and furious and everyone pitched in to make it a wonderful experience and a truly memorable wedding. Ryan's Dad, Michael Hall, was the flower man prancing down the aisle and dispersing flower petals, quite the scene, only wish we had him fitted for a Tutu. "
