Officiated by Veronica Johnson at Swan Lake Iris Gardens in Sumter, South Carolina on December 26th, 2023.
"This wedding celebration was a joy to officiate. Before the ceremony, the couple opted for "A Custom Blended Family Ceremony." I love it when families are united into one - and legally. I incorporated family vows and the names of every family member in the ceremony. The couple was married December 26, 2023, and the skies were grey, after an early morning rain, however, for the noon wedding - not one drop of rain fell. Nonetheless, we were all covered beneath a wedding gazebo, if the rain decided to fall. The colors of the wedding were green and red. It add a dash of Christmas for a wedding held on Christmas Morrow. Although morrow is archaic, it is befitting of their wedding day, and signals that the Christmas celebration is not over YET, and the pre New Year's party is just beginning. The bride wore a beautiful, white form fitting, sheath gown, with a modest train. The groom wore a dark colored two-piece suit. Members of the family were dressed in red and green, and the groom's red tie, added to the asthethics of the ceremony colors. The double-ring ceremony was eventually encased with a family circle and promises, before the couple kissed as Mr. and Mrs. for the very first time. Overall, the family's participation was enthusiastic, and they were just as giddy as the bride and groom, and that is indicative of a family relationship that will endure until the end of time. The groom's son served as the best man, the bride's daughter served as maid of honor and their grand-daughter held the ring box. Two grandsons were in attendance, as well as the daughter-in-law, whom is the mother of the little-lady-ring bearer, the two sons, and is the groom's daughter-in-law, thus the bride's step-daughter-in-law. The ceremony ended with a thunderous applause to congratulate the newly Mr. and Mrs. This ceremony is most memorable, because it my first Blended Family Ceremony. Researching and writing the ceremony, now provides me with a basis for other blended families to follow and for me to be proud of. "
