Duenke - Storms Wedding 2023

The Wedding of Madison Duenke & Alec Storms

Officiated by Thomas James (Jamie) O'Sullivan at The Stanley in Lees Summit, Missouri on November 18th, 2023. Witnessed by Marcia Schwieder and Larry Dumas.

ABOUT THIS WEDDING

"This is by far the best view of any wedding that I have ever attended! The bride and groom are literally right there and with the crowd behind them. Priceless. Now, getting ordained is the easy part. Writing the script and performing the ceremony is the hardest and most rewarding part. If any of your loved ones ask you to officiate their wedding, just say yes and figure it out. It will be one of the most rewarding things that you have ever done in your life. I promise. "

INVOCATION

Welcome family and friends. (Please be seated.)

Thank you all for coming today to witness and celebrate the marriage of Madison and Alec.

This is our acknowledgment of the next chapter of their lives together.

Madison and Alec will mark their transition as a couple, not only by celebrating the love between one another, but also celebrate the love between all of us.

The love of their grandparents, parents, step-parents, siblings, extended family and friends.

All of our paths have aligned today - and we are now forever connected.

READINGS

A reading from the Apostle Paul.

The first letter to the Corinthians, Chapter 13, verses 4 through 7:

Love is patient, love is kind.

It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud, It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Father, as Madison and Alec pledge themselves to each other,

help them - and - bless them,

that their love may be pure - and - their vows may be true.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

SOLIDARITY

Let us all please join hands in solidarity with Madison and Alec.

Now, Madison and Alec, take a good look at your partner’s hands,

so that you see the gift, that they are to you.

These are the hands of your best friend.

Young and strong and full of love for you.

They are holding yours, on your wedding day.

As you promise to love each other today, tomorrow, always and forever.

These are the hands that will work alongside yours,

as you build your future together.

These are the hands that will passionately love you,

and cherish you, through the years.

And with the slightest touch, will come for you like no other.

These are the hands - that will hold you - when fear and grief fills your mind.

These are the hands that will wipe the tears from your eyes.

Tears of sorrow and tears of joy.

These are the hands that will give you strength when you need it.

And these are the hands - that even when wrinkled and aged - will still be reaching for yours.

EXCHANGE OF VOWS AND DECLARATION OF INTENT

Do you, Alec, take Madison, to be your lawfully wedded wife?

To live together in holy matrimony, to love her, comfort and honor her, in sickness and in health, in sorrow and in joy, to have and to hold, from this day forward, as long as you both shall live?

Alec: I Do.

Do you, Madison, take Alec, to be your lawfully wedded husband?

To live together in holy matrimony, to love him, comfort and honor him, in sickness and in health, in sorrow and in joy, to have and to hold, from this day forward, as long as you both shall live?

Madison: I do.

RING EXCHANGE

Best Gentlemen hand me the rings to hold up and show.

These rings are unbroken circles, with ends that have been joined together, and they will always represent your union.

They are symbols of infinity, and of your infinite love.

When you look at these rings on your hands, be reminded of this moment,

of your commitment, and the love you feel for each other.

Alec, place this ring on Madison’s finger and repeat after me:

Madison, I give you this ring,

as a symbol of my love,

with the pledge to love you today, tomorrow, always and forever.

And now.. Madison, place this ring on Alec’s finger and repeat after me:

Alec, I give you this ring,

as a symbol of my love,

with the pledge to love you today, tomorrow, always and forever.

THE KISS AND PRONOUNCEMENT

Before these witnesses, you have pledged to be joined in marriage.

You have now sealed this pledge with your wedding rings.

By the authority vested in me, by the great State of Missouri,

I now pronounce you husband and wife!

Step Aside for announcement . . . . .

Alec, you may kiss your bride!

PRESENTATION

Please rise if you are able!

It is my honor and privilege to present to you, for the very first time . . . .

Mr. and Mrs. Alec and Madison Storms!

RECESSIONAL

(Still give enough gap for proper photos!)

Ushers take position in the aisle to release guests.

(Bridesmaids and Groomsmen recede in reverse order, MoH and BM first)

(Parents and Grandparents in reverse order)

CLOSING REMARKS

(I say What to expect next) Madison and Alec will be taking photographs with the family, so if you see any of them straying, send them back!

In the meantime, you are invited to go downstairs, mingle, find your table, enjoy a beverage and some hors d’oeuvres.

We will let you know when it’s time to take your seat.

SIGNING LEGAL DOCUMENTS

We need a document signing table and two official witnesses with the photographer.

(Photographer, Marcia, Larry, Jamie, Madison and Alec.)
