Welcome, everyone to this very special day. We are gathered here today, in the presence of God, to join Alyssa Whitt and Jacob Troutwine in holy matrimony. Let us begin with a prayer.
Heavenly Father, we come before you on this special day, asking for your blessings upon Alyssa and Jacob. May their marriage be filled with love and grace. Grant them strength and wisdom to build a strong foundation for their marriage. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
Are you both ready to declare your intent?
Jacob, do you take Alyssa to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad, for richer or for poorer keeping yourself unto her for as long as you both shall live? If so, answer, I do.
Alyssa, do you take Jacob to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad, for richer or for poorer keeping yourself unto him for as long as you both shall live? If so, answer, I do.
Jacob and Alyssa would now like to exchange the vows they have written.
And, now the rings, please.
The rings you are about to place on each other’s’ fingers are symbols of infinity and reminders of the eternal love that you have for one another.
Jacob, as you place the ring upon Alyssa’s finger, please repeat after me.
Alyssa, as this ring encircles your finger, so will my love forever encircle you. We will walk through life together as partners and best friends. I give you my heart until the end of time.
Alyssa, as you place the ring on Jacob’s finger, please repeat after me.
Jacob, as this ring encircles your finger, so will my love forever encircle you. We will walk through life together as partners and best friends. I give you my heart until the end of time.
Jacob and Alyssa, as your grandmother I am taking the liberty of saying a few words. There is nothing more important than family. Family bonds are important because they support us through the difficult times and help us celebrate the best of times.
Family can offer support and security coupled with unconditional love; that will always look to see and bring out the best in you.
The people in this room today, are your family, both through blood and through love. In addition, you have extended family, not here today, who also stand ready to help and support you as you begin your life together.
Jacob, I adore you and have loved you since the first day I met you – you are my only grandson and I could not be more proud of the man you have become. I believe you have chosen your wife wisely.
Alyssa, you are a beautiful, independent, successful young lady and, of course, I believe you have chosen your husband wisely. I welcome you into our family and promise we will surround the two of you with our support, love and prayers.
Can I ask everyone to bow their heads for a brief closing prayer.
Father God, we know you are here as you said in Matthew 18:20 – “For where two or three come together in my name, I am there with them.”
Father, we know that while today is a beautiful and happy occasion, there will be bumps in the road as life is not always easy. I ask your abundant blessings on Jacob and Alyssa as they move forward into the rest of their life together. Bless them with enduring love, understanding, patience, joy in each other and most importantly that they keep you at the center of their relationship. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
By the power vested in me by American Marriage Ministries, the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and in the presence of God, it is my honor and joy to pronounce you man and wife. Jacob, you may kiss your bride.
MAY I NOW PRESENT MR. AND MRS. JACOB TROUTWINE
