"My first wedding and it was for a coworker that my wife and I have adopted as a member of our family. So nervous is an understatement, but it went off beautifully and I couldn't be happier. Writting the ceremony instead of using a standard one was a lot of fun and made the whole things more personable for the couple. "

Who is presenting Katie to be married today?
Prayer over the bride and groom.
As we get started, I would like to open with a verse that many of you may know but is always a reminder to me what the word LOVE truly means. As well as the theme we have going here today as we join Katie and Cameron in a forever unity.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Would you please bow your heads with me as we ask for God’s blessing over Katie and Camron.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Today, as we celebrate the radiant spirits of Katie and Cameron on their wedding day, we are reminded of the beauty of love and commitment. Let this celebration be a reflection of the joyfulness and blessings that come from your divine love Lord, we thank you for all the happiness they both bring into our lives and the lives of others they touch every day.
We pray Dear Lord that you bless Katie and Cameron with a marriage filled with laughter, shared dreams, and a deep connection. May their days be bright, their nights be peaceful, and their heart be ever open to the blessings you provide. Grant them the strength to face challenges hand in hand together, and may their love be a testament to your grace. As they stand at the threshold of this new adventure Lord, fill their hearts with your divine peace and surround them with your loving presence.
I pray all of this in your sons most gracious and heavenly name. Amen
How I know the bride and groom:
I would like to share a little bit about Katie and Cameron and how it was that we came to know each other. Although I have a ministry degree God apparently decided I would use my skills and gift he gave me in a broader venue then a just a building that everyone gathers on Sunday. The Indianapolis International Airport is my church and where I get to use those skills on a daily basis. My full-time job is with TSA and that is where I meet Katie almost three years ago.
From the day I met her I knew that she would end up being a part of mine and my Janet’s lives for a long time to come, and sure enough it didn’t take long for Katie to gain a special place in our hearts and a wonderful relationship started.
One thing that sealed the deal for us was, not long after Katie started (Mind you we really hadn’t know each other for long), Janet and I were going on a cruise and we didn’t know what we were going to do with our fur two babies Mia and Luna. Katie stepped right up and stayed at our house for the week to take care of them, quickly earning their love and respect just as much as ours. This would be a reoccurring thing every year for the next two years. Katie has become like a daughter to us and so when she asked me to marry her and Cameron that was a very special day for me.
Enter Cameron into the picture, even though I haven’t known Cameron for as long as I have Katie, I knew from the day I meet him that he was going to be the guy that would make Katie happy (and also be the guy who was able to deal with Katie when she was being. (Well Katie) Pause for laughs (Hopefully)
In the short time I have known Cameron, he has shown me nothing less then what it takes to fulfill the role he is stepping into as a husband, provider and most importantly a best friend to Katie. And I couldn’t be more proud of him with all that he has accomplished in his life and how he has provided for Katie in just the short time since we have meet.
Katie and Cameron have both became a huge part of our family, we share meals together, we laugh and have a great time playing Jax box on the switch as well as just being able to share our good times and our bad times together. God truly has blessed Janet and myself with bringing these two amazing people into our lives.
I hope you both know how much you are loved by Janet and myself, and that we will always have your six.
Ruth 1:16-17 (This is a very special verse for Katie and Cameron)
One thing Katie and Cameron asked to make sure that it was included in their ceremony is a bible verse that is very special to them. To me this verse actually shows what a selfless love and commitment looks like, and what I pray that they use as a foundation for their marriage.
Ruth 1:16-17, NRSV
But Ruth said, “Do not press me to leave you or to turn back from following you! Where you go, I will go; Where you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God my God. Where you die, I will die— there will I be buried. May the LORD do this and so to me, and more as well, if even death parts me from you!”
Cameron and Katie, your commitment to each other is a true sacrificial love and something that I pray you will have for an eternity to come.
The vows you are about to recite are more than just words, they are a promise you will make to each other and the rings you will place on each other’s fingers, symbolize the eternal love and commitment within your relationship that I pray will last an eternity, and this world will never be able to destroy.
Do you have the rings?
Cameron, please repeat after me.
Katie, from this day forward I promise you these things.
I will laugh with you in times of joy.
And comfort you in times of sorrow.
I will share in your dreams
And support you as you strive to achieve your goals.
I will listen to you with compassion and understanding.
And speak to you with encouragement.
I will remain faithful to our vows for better or for worse.
In times of sickness and health. (Start placing ring on finger)
You are my best friend and I will love and respect you always.
