Family and Friends,
Thank you all for coming today. Jay and Briana are so happy you could be here to celebrate their union, a love that began online and has grown into something truly beautiful and unique. Their journey has been marked by laughter, surprises, and most importantly, an abundance of love.
Address
Briana and Jay, you stand before us today, surrounded by loved ones, to declare your commitment to one another.
Giving Away of the Bride
Who presents Briana to be married to Jay?
[Parent or Guardian: "I do/We do"]
[Moment of Silence]
Before we continue, Jay and Briana would like to recognize those family members who could not be here today and have since passed on. We will now have a moment of silence in their honor.
Intro to the Couple
Jay and Briana’s love story started online. They really connected on their first date of bowling and deep-dish pizza. Finding comforts and similarities in each other brought them together and began the relationship you see now. Their connection was so quick and powerful, it was fitting that Jay recreated those first two dates to ask for Briana's hand in marriage.
Jay, you proposed in a record store, a place that holds a piece of Briana's heart. You placed the symbol of your commitment within the pages of a Stephen King book, and when Briana opened it, the ring tumbled out, signifying the start of a new chapter in your lives together. How cute?!
So, let us take this step together with them as they publicly declare their love and commitment to each other.
You know, some people think finding love means you have found perfection. I think most of us here can vouch that is incorrect. Love is not perfect. It is messy, it is breathtaking, it is frustrating, it is calming, it is the great paradox of life. Marriage does not equal happiness. For happiness is a mood, it comes and goes, it alters. Marriage is a commitment you make to each other, every day, that you will choose each other above all else. It’s a journey of ups and downs, good times and bad. The perfect relationship is not measured in arguments and agreements but the balance you find in each other. How you bring out the best in each other, to face those challenges together. That is what makes a great marriage.
I believe in true love. I believe love conquers all. It is unconditional, which means you are to love each other, even when you do not like each other. Marriage is what gets you through and your love is what will keep you going. And it starts with a simple declaration.
Declaration of Intent
Jay, do you take Briana as your wife? To love and support, with patience and understanding? In good times and bad, as long as you live?
Briana, do you take Jay as your husband? To love and support, with patience and understanding? In good times and bad, as long as you live?
Ring Exchange
Now that you have declared your intent, let us symbolize it by exchanging rings and vows. A wedding ring shows the world your commitment and bond. It represents a promise of everlasting love. And just like a promise, it is a circle that cannot be broken.
Jay/Briana, place the ring on Briana/Jay’s finger and repeat after me.
With this ring {} I promise to love you {} when life is easy and when it is hard. {} I promise to hold you in the highest regard. {} To always listen to hear {} instead of listening to respond. {} To always lead with patience, kindness and understanding. {} I promise always to encourage and support you. {} These things I give to you now and forever. {}
Family and friends. Do you vow to support and help Jay and Briana to uphold these promises to each other? (Just say we do)
Pronouncement
Jay and Briana, remember this day, not just as your wedding day, but as a beginning. Let the past be the past, do not look back, always remember to keep moving forward. I encourage you both to find growth and knowledge from trials you face. Be graceful, for love keeps no record of wrongdoing.
Remember you are a team now, work together so you may never be torn apart. Share your lives, laugh together, cry, hurt, and heal together. For love, is too precious a gift.
Now, Ladies and Gentlemen, without any further ado, I would like to officially introduce MR and MRS LAMBOY!
Jay & Briana are now going to give each other their vows, they ask that we be patient and give them their privacy for this.
