Officiated by Patrick Ryan Baldauff at He'eia State Park in Kaneohe, Hawaii on September 21st, 2023. Witnessed by Joyce Blanchard and Brad Nelson.
"David and Jonathan are longtime friends. My wife and I met them while we were active-duty military stationed in Hawaii. They wanted a friend to marry them so I was very honored when they asked me. The wedding location and ceremony were beautiful, and I was humbled to be a part of it. Their two golden retrievers were the ring bearers, which added a very heartwarming touch. This was my first time officiating a wedding, but will probably not be my last!! "

MINISTER (to all):
Dearly Beloved and Honored Guests,
We are gathered together here to join David Lammay and Jonathan Enos in the spiritual union of marriage. I have known them both for quite some time, and I am humbled and honored that they have asked me to join them together in the bonds of marriage.
What greater thing for two persons than to feel they are joined together; to strengthen each other in labor, to rest on each other in sorrow, to help each other in need, to share joy, and to be one with each other-whatever life has to offer.
This is a special time of celebration that David and Jonathan will long remember, and because of this, they are thankful you are here today to share in their joy.
This contract is not to be entered into lightly but thoughtfully and seriously, and with a deep realization of its obligations and responsibilities. Please remember that love, loyalty, and understanding are the foundations of a happy and enduring home.
MINISTER (to the couple):
David and Jonathan, today begins a life of giving and sharing, nurturing and support; allowing each other the freedom to change and grow as individuals while developing your mutual spirit as time goes by.
In the art of marriage, the little things are the big things. It is about establishing a relationship in which your independence is equal, dependence is mutual, and obligation is reciprocal.
Today, your family and friends are gathered together to celebrate your union. We are privileged to witness two very dear friends, two exceptional individuals, committing to share a lifetime together. Remember, a great marriage is not when the 'perfect couple' comes together..it is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences. A great spouse loves you exactly as you are. An extraordinary spouse helps you grow; and inspires you to be, do and give your very best!
David Lammay and Jonathan Enos will now share their vows.
*(Vows)*
**David and Jonathan speak their vows to each other**
MINISTER (to couple):
Do you David Lammay take this man Jonathan Enos to be your lawfully wedded partner, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and woe, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself unto him for as long as you both shall live?
*(Wait for Confirmation)*
Do you Jonathan Enos take this man David Lammay to be your lawfully wedded partner, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and woe, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself unto him for as long as you both shall live?
*(Wait for Confirmation)*
David Lammay and Jonathan Enos will now exchange rings as a symbol of their love and commitment.
*(Ring Exchange)*
MINISTER (to couple):
The wedding ring seals the vows of marriage and represents a promise of everlasting love. It is a physical manifestation of the promises joining this couple together. The wedding ring is placed on the fourth finger of the left hand because years ago, it was believed this finger was a direct connection to the heart-the perfect place for a symbol representing love and commitment. These rings are the physical embodiment of the spiritual bond that now binds you two together.
As you, David, place this ring on Jonathan's finger, please repeat after me: "I give you this ring as a symbol of my commitment to you and to our partnership in life. You have my heart always."
As you, Jonathan, place this ring on David's finger, please repeat after me: "I give you this ring as a symbol of my commitment to you and to our partnership in life. You have my heart always."
**Blessings**
MINISTER (to couple):
David and Jonathan, I leave you with the following words:
May all that you are, always be in love. May all that is love, always be in you. May your love be as beautiful on each day you share as it is on this day of celebration; and may each day you share be as precious to you as the day you first fell in love. May you always be each other's best friend and greatest love.
You have pledged your faith to each other in the company of your family and friends. By the power vested in me by the State of Hawaii, I now pronounce you husband and husband. You may now kiss!
MINISTER (to all):
Ladies and gentlemen, it is my distinct honor and privilege to present to you for the first time as newlyweds, Mr. David Lammay and Mr. Jonathan Enos!
