Welcome.
Officiant: Please be seated.
First, I’d like to begin by welcoming everyone and thanking each and every one of you for being here on this most happy of days. It’s no accident that each of you are here today, and each of you were invited to be here because you represent someone important in the individual and collective lives of Matt and Kara.
I truly can’t think of a better venue than this for an occasion that I know is not only monumental for the wedded-couple-to-be, but for all of us who are lucky to know and love them as individuals; but even more so as a perfect pairing.
The most remarkable moment in life is when you meet the person who makes you feel complete. The person who makes the world a beautiful and magical place. The person with whom you share a bond so special that it transcends normal relationships and becomes something so pure and so wonderful, that you can’t imagine spending another day of your life without them. I know how deeply these two care for and love one another, and I feel privileged to be here today among all of you as a witness of their commitment to a lifetime of love for one another.
I think I’ve had the good fortune to meet most of you here today at some point or another, but for those of you whom I haven’t met, my name is Rocky and i am Matts oldest cousin. I have seen grow up from running around in Ninja turtle under wear to some hard times that He had to go threw to get here today. But i would have to say that I am so proud of where you are today. Not just you but both of you and again thanks for the opportunity.
Without further ado.
Dearly Beloved and Honored Guests,
We are gathered together here to join Mathew Halley and Kara Miller in the spiritual union of marriage.
This contract is not to be entered into lightly but thoughtfully and seriously, and with a deep realization of its obligations and responsibilities. Please remember that love, loyalty, and understanding are the foundations of a happy and enduring home.
Reading:
"The Art of Marriage" by Wilferd A. Peterson
The little things are the big things. It is never being too old to hold hands.
It is remembering to say "I love you" at least once a day.
It is never going to sleep angry.
It is at no time taking the other for granted;
the courtship should not end with the honeymoon,
it should continue through all the years.
It is speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating
gratitude in thoughtful ways.
It is not expecting the husband to wear a halo or the wife to have wings of an angel.
It is not looking for perfection in each other.
It is cultivating flexibility, patience, understanding and a sense of humor.
It is having the capacity to forgive and forget.
It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow.
It is finding room for the things of the spirit.
It is a common search for the good and the beautiful. It is establishing a relationship in which the independence is equal, dependence is mutual and the obligation is reciprocal.
It is not only marrying the right partner, it is being the right partner.
Mathew Halley and Kara Miller will now share their vows.
*(Vows)*
Do you Mathew Halley take this woman Kara Miller to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself unto her for as long as you both shall live?
*(Wait for Confirmation)*
Do you Kara Miller take this man Mathew Halley to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself unto him for as long as you both shall live?
*(Wait for Confirmation)*
Mathew Halley and Kara Miller will now exchange rings as a symbol of their love and commitment. The ring, an unbroken circle, represents unending love. As often as either of you look upon these rings, may you be reminded of this moment and the love you have promised to one another.
Matt, please place the ring on Kara’s finger, and repeat after me.
I give you this ring as a sign of my love and faithfulness.
Kara, please place the ring on Matt’s finger and repeat after me.
I give you this ring as a sign of my love and faithfulness.

Unity Candle Ceremony Script
Bride and Groom, the two separate candles symbolize your separate
lives, separate families and separate sets of friends. Please light the
candles and that together you light the center candle.
The individual candles represent your lives before today. Lighting
the center candle represents that your two lives are now joined to
one light, and represents the joining together of your two families
and sets of friends to one. "
Now you have lit a fire and that fire should not go out.
The two of you now have a fire that represents love, understanding
and a philosophy of life.
It will give you heat, food, warmth and happiness.
The new fire represents a new beginning - a new life and a new
family. The fire should keep burning; you should stay together. You
have lit the fire for life, until old age separates you.
By the authority vested in me by American Marriage Ministries and the State of Oregon I now pronounce you husband and wife! You may kiss the Bride.
