Once their wrists are tied together, the deed is recognized as a binding contract between them and their lives become intertwined for all eternity. The act of handfasting becomes symbolic of the vows they have taken and their desire to become one.

As your wrists are fasted together, you become bound to each other and to the vows you have promised.
