INVOCATION & WELCOME
Welcome family & friends. We are here to celebrate the marriage of (David Joseph Kwaczala) and (Dale Ann Jones). Each of us has had a role in helping them along the path that has led to this joyful occasion. Whether as a family member, a friend, or an honorary child—whatever role we have played in their lives—our influence has touched their individual journeys, and we celebrate with them as they now join their lives together, forever.
DECLARATION OF INTENT
You're both here today because you are committed to each other and have made a choice. You are choosing each other always. You've chosen to be with someone who enhances you, who makes you think, makes you smile and laugh, even sometimes makes you cry and drives you crazy, but always makes each day brighter.
Today, you make promises to each other that you will continue to honor every day forward, for the rest of your lives together. The vows you make today represent who you are, what you value in life and in love, how you want to continue to love each other, and how you will show up on good days and bad. These are your promises to meet life as a team, and to share each moment, each struggle and triumph, with each other.
I think we can all agree that you’ve both known pretty much since the beginning that you were meant for each other, each other’s “other half”, but you had to make sure it was “right.” The fact that it took 38 years is beside the point. As we begin your ceremony this evening, we begin by stating your intention to marry and that you are free and without reservation choosing to join together.
Dad, do you freely and without reservation choose to marry (Dale Ann Jones) today?
DaeDae, do you freely and without reservation choose to marry (David Joseph Kwaczala) today?
Thank you both.
And so it is, (David Joseph Kwaczala,) and (Dale Ann Jones) that your family will now bear witness as you give your word and pledge your love and life to each other.
Exchange of Wedding Rings:
(Dad) and (DaeDae), you have chosen to symbolize your vows to one another with an exchange of rings. Wedding rings therefore are an outward and visible sign of an inward, spiritual grace signifying to all your commitment to each other.
Please hold and look at each other’s hands.
These are the hands of your best friend, strong and full of love for you. These hands have worked and played alongside yours and will continue to do so. These are the hands that will passionately cherish you through the rest of the years and with the slightest touch, will comfort you like no other. They will tenderly hold your family as one. And these are the hands that will always reach out to you with the same touch that has comforted you all these years.
Whenever you glance at these rings, know that you are loved beyond all imagining.
(Dad), please take (DaeDae’s) left hand in yours.
Now, place her ring on her fourth finger and resume holding both of her hands.
• PARTNER A PLACES THE RING.
Please repeat after me:
(Dale Ann Jones), I give you this ring with the promise
that I will love and honor you,
in all ways, for all our days
It is a symbol of my deepest love,
my unending and devoted friendship,
and a pledge to stand with you in every tomorrow.
(DaeDae), please take (Dad’s) left hand in yours.
Now, place his ring on his fourth finger and resume holding both of his hands.
• PARTNER B PLACES THE RING.
Please repeat after me:
(David Joseph Kwaczala), I give you this ring with the promise
that I will love and honor you,
in all ways, for all our days.
It is a symbol of my deepest love,
my unending and devoted friendship,
and a pledge to stand with you in every tomorrow.
