Molly Katherine Griffin And Reginald Ian Brown’s Wedding Wedding Ceremony Script

Welcome, friends and family.

We are all gathered here today to witness and celebrate the union of Molly and Ian. As some or most of you may know, their story began as a real life "that one time at band camp." Molly laid eyes on Ian and the rest is history that leads us all here today.

In the years they have been together, their love and understanding of each other has grown and matured them into the couple you see before you today. Ready to spend the rest of their lives together as husband and wife.

A true marriage begins well before the wedding day, and the efforts of marriage continue well beyond the ceremony. A brief moment in time and the stroke of the pen are all that is required to create the legal bond of marriage, but it takes a lifetime of love, commitment, and compromise to make marriage durable and everlasting.

Today you declare your commitment to each other before friends and family.

Molly and Ian, on your journey together, keep your spouse in the space of highest priority in your heart. The love that you share must be guarded and cherished forever, for it is your most valuable treasure.

Molly and Ian will now share their vows that they have both prepared.

* (Prepared Vows) *

* (Standard Vows) *

Ian, do you take this woman to be your wife, to have and to hold, for better or for worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do you part?

* (Wait for Confirmation) *

Molly, do you take this man to be your husband, to have and to hold, for better or for worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do you part?

* (Wait for Confirmation) *

RINGS EXCHANGE

(Groom to the Bride)

Ian, as you place this ring on Molly's finger, please repeat after me. With this ring, I thee wed, and pledge you my love, now and forever.

(place the ring on her finger)

(Bride to the Groom)

Molly, as you place this ring on Ian's finger, please repeat after me. With this ring, I thee wed, and pledge you my love, now and forever.

(Place the ring on his finger)

HAND FASTING CEREMONY

* (Intro) *

Molly and Ian will now partake in a traditional Scottish handfasting ceremony. This ceremony physically represents their union and commitment to each other as they "tie the knot."

* (Conduct the handfasting) *

By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride.

Ladies and Gentlemen, it is my honor to present for the first time, Mr. and Mrs. Brown!
