INVOCATION Good afternoon and welcome, family friends, and guests. Today, we are here to celebrate Justin and Zakeya, as they promise each other their continued love and commitment in marriage. So, as we’ve all come together to witness the love shared between the two of them, please sit back, relax, and enjoy this beautiful love story of Justin and Zakeya.

THE LOVESTORY

Justin and Zakeya met their freshman year in 2012, at Texas A & M. Although they have had mutual friends, they never interacted with one another until they both ended up at an international party that they were both invited to. That’s when and where Justin approached Zakeya and decided to shoot his first shot. (Laughter). Now, whatever Justin said and however he said it definitely worked. They talked for a few days, which led to date night at John Crompton Park in College Station. She curved him, but as time progressed and as Jusin and Zakeya went about their friendship and dating journey, Zakeya fell in love with the fact that Justin was not like the other guys. He made her feel safe and comfortable, and she could tell he genuinely wanted to get to know her. What made Justin fall head­over-hills in love with Zakeya was that she had his back and was always there during his toughest times. Through the years, they have been through literally EVERYTHING together. What really makes their foundation so solid is that they built a friendship first, before anything. From working together at Cheddars to the Corner Bar, to being a part of “The Crew”, (Shout out to The Crew), Justin and Zakeya both knew that they wanted to be in each other’s life. As Justin and Zakeya reflect and remember the journey that landed them, and all of us here today, and as they continue to celebrate their love and friendship, they are thankful to all of you for being on this journey with them.

DECLARATION OF INTENT *Officiant to Couple Justin and Zakeya, marriage is a serious step, a lifelong commitment to love and care for each other, treating each other with compassion and grace, and to always move toward love and a beter understanding of one another. It also takes meeting each challenge and success with gratitude, integrity, humor, and patience, learning and growing together. Last but certainly not least, it takes honoring these promises each and every day as a team, friend, and lovers, in sickness and in health, in good tmes and bad, for as long as you both shall live. Are you both willing and ready to take this step together?

Justin and Zakeya, you’ve both chosen to exchange rings as a physical symbol of these promises and your never-ending love and commitment, and as you stand here before all of us and before God. When you look at your wedding rings, let it be a reminder that your love is eternal – there is no end.

SAND CEREMONY

Today, Justin and Zakeya are becoming a family of their own, pouring their love and strengths into a shared dream for the future. To honor this, they will partake in a Sand Ceremony. Justin and Zakeya will each take different colored sand and pour their individual containers into this single glass. Once these grains of sand are blended together, they’ll never be able to be separated. Just like this sand, once you both make this final commitment and I sign that marriage license, the two of you, your families, and all of your friends are locked in for dear life. (Laughter). *Couple take turns pouring small amounts of colored sand into the larger jar, creating a patern, Or, both will begin to pour at once. Justin and Zakeya, when you take this hourglass home, you’ll be reminded, daily, of how your individual strengths and passions have blended into a shared beautiful life.

Juatin and Jakeya, as you take this next step in life together, remember that you always have each other, and you always have the love and support of all of us. Justin and Zakeya, it is my honor and privilege, by the power vested in me by the State of Texas and the American Marriage Ministries, I now pronounce Mr. and Mrs. Mays.
