Welcome everyone… we have come here today to witness and to celebrate the marriage of JENNIFER SARAH BAME and AUSTIN RICHARD SNODGRASS.
For those of you who don’t know me… my name is Robb Schmidt. I work with Austin in the Athletic Department at Youngstown State University. Over the past several years, I have been fortunate enough to become friends with both Jen and Austin.
When they asked if I would perform today’s ceremony… I was deeply touched and quite honored that they wanted me to be a part of their special day.
Jen and Austin first met while they were working for the Washington Wild Things. After about 7- months of working together, Jen left the team for a position at the University of Pennsylvania and then Chatham University here in Pittsburgh. Meanwhile, Austin stayed with the Wild Things until leaving for a job at Youngstown State University.
Despite not working together, they remained friends… and as fate would have it, Jen’s love of country music led to their first date – a Lee Brice concert. Over the next three years, their friendship blossomed into a romantic relationship… and, here we are today.
Love is a beautiful gift and, a wedding is a way to celebrate that love. Marriage is also a place of freedom. Freedom to fully express who you are, knowing that you have someone there to catch you when you fall, encourage you when you are discouraged and applaud your successes.
Marriage is a serious contract requiring a deep understanding of its obligations and responsibilities. May you continuously be reminded of the beauty and the deepest intention of the vows you make here today.
JENNIFER and AUSTIN will now exchange THEIR vows to express their love and commitment.
(VOWS ARE EXCHANGED)
May the life you choose to share, fulfill each of you, inspiring you to give abundantly to the rest of the world. May the promises you make here today, reflect the love and sincerity of your truest intention for this union.
Do you JENNIFER SARAH BAME take AUSTIN RICHARD SNODGRASS to be your lawfully wedded partner, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for richer or poorer, for as long as you both shall live? (“I DO”)
Do you AUSTIN RICHARD SNODGRASS take JENNIFER SARAH BAME to be your lawfully wedded partner, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for richer or poorer, for as long as you both shall live? (“I DO”)
<<< ASK FOR THE RINGS>>>
A ring is an unbroken circle, with ends that have been joined together, and it represents your union. When you look at these rings, please be reminded of this moment, your commitment and the love you feel for each other.
AUSTIN, place the ring on JEN’s finger and repeat after me:
JEN — I give you this ring
as a symbol of my love
with the pledge: to love you
today, tomorrow, always, and forever.
And now... JENNIFER place the ring on AUSTIN’s finger and repeat after me:
AUSTIN — I give you this ring
as a symbol of my love
with the pledge: to love you
today, tomorrow, always, and forever.
By the authority vested in me by the American Marriage Ministries and the State of Pennsylvania… I now pronounce you married. Austin, you may kiss the bride.
When life is peaceful and when it is painful, may you continuously be reminded of the beauty and deepest intention of the vows you made here today.
Ladies and gentlemen… I present to you for the first time as HUSBAND and WIFE: MR. and MRS. AUSTIN and JENNIFER SNODGRASS!!
