Dearly Beloved and Honored Guests,
We are gathered together here to join David and Alisha in the spiritual union of marriage.
This contract is not to be entered into lightly but thoughtfully and seriously, and with a deep realization of its obligations and responsibilities. Please remember that love, loyalty, and understanding are the foundations of a happy and enduring home.
David and Alisha have chosen this poem from Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12 that shares the true partnership between two people the fundamental basis of being there for someone in the highs and lows is demonstrated here and the strength that comes from inviting Christ into your relationship
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
David and Alisha will now share their vows.
*(Vows)*
Do you Alisha take David to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself unto him for as long as you both shall live?
*(Wait for Confirmation)*
Do you David take Alisha to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself unto her for as long as you both shall live?
*(Wait for Confirmation)*
Alisha and David will now exchange rings as a symbol of their love and commitment.
*(Ring Exchange)* Repeat after me: I give you this ring as a daily reminder of my love for you.
Colossians 3: 14-17- This verse is a reminder to the couple and guests that the love for Christ is what keeps the 2 of them close.
And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
By the authority vested in me by American Marriage Ministries and the State of Pennsylvania I now pronounce you husband and wife!
You may now kiss your bride.
Guests: The new Mr. and Mrs. Fye will not be having a receiving line so please have your bubbles ready.
