WELCOME & INVOCATION
OFFICIANT TO THE RECEPTION AND THE COUPLE
We are gathered here today to celebrate one of life’s greatest moments and to cherish the words which shall unite Jayce and Hannah.
Marriage is a promise between two people who love, trust, and honor each other as individuals, and who choose to spend the rest of their lives together. It is a symbol of how far you have come these past few years. It is a symbol of the promises you will make to each other to continue growing stronger as individuals and as partners no matter what challenges you face.
You want my opinion? We’re all a little weird. And life is a little weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall into mutually satisfying weirdness—and call it love—true love." (from Perspective, 1997)
OFFICIANT TO THE COUPLE
Jayce and Hannah, no words of mine or any other person can truly marry each of you to the other. That is done only when you exchange your promises and commit yourselves to this marriage and each other. So I ask you:
OFFICIANT JAYCE
Do you, Jayce, take Hannah to be your lawfully wedded spouse? To honor and to cherish her from this day forward, sharing your life through good times and bad, offering kindness, patience, and comfort each day, for as long as love shall last?
Jayce
I do.
OFFICIANT TO HANNAH
Do you, Hannah, take Jayce to be your lawfully wedded spouse? To honor and to cherish him from this day forward, sharing your life through good times and bad, offering kindness, patience, and comfort each day, for as long as love shall last?
Hannah
I do.
RING & VOW EXCHANGE
OFFICIANT TO THE COUPLE
The ring, an unbroken circle, represents unending love. As often as either of you look upon these rings, may you be reminded of this moment and the love you have promised to one another.
OFFICIANT TO JAYCE
Jayce, please place the ring on Hannah’s hand and repeat these words of love:
I give you this ring to wear with love and joy.
As a ring has no end,
Neither shall my love for you.
I choose you to be my spouse
this day and forever more.
PARTNER A REPEATS EACH LINE IN TURN.

PARTNER B REPEATS EACH LINE IN TURN.
You have just watched Jayce and Hannah exchange vows and put on each other’s rings. For the next part of today’s wonderful ceremony, the couple decided to incorporate a special unity ritual to further symbolize their connectedness.
You may have heard of unity candles, unity sand, or the Cord of Three Strands. These ceremonies are all beautiful and symbolic, but if there is one thing you need to know about Jayce and Hannah, they like to do things that are nontraditional and unique.
Can anyone guess what they will use? No? Anyway, [name/s], bring out the SHOTS!
If you think about it, alcohol and marriage have a lot in common. Great alcohol makes you feel warm inside. A shot of alcohol gives you some well-needed confidence and a spring in your step. Alcohol can make you feel like you’re on top of the world.
But we also know that alcohol can give you a life-changing hangover. However, you get up, fight through it, and do it all over again.
As Jayce and Hannah pour a shot, they add their individual flavor, strengths, and characteristics into their marriage.
Hannah, as you pour a shot, you bring your wit, cleverness, resourcefulness, and passion into your marriage.
Jayce, as you pour a shot, you bring your sense of humor, courage, steadfastness, and strength into your marriage.
May this drink represent your everlasting and lifelong love for each other, your promise to stay loyal and faithful in your marriage, and your vow to stay strong through everything life has to offer.
Now, everyone, on the count of three, let’s cheer for Jayce and Hannah as they take a drink on their wedding day.
One, two, three!

Jayce and Hannah, it is with tremendous glee and pleasure that I welcome you to the world. In this new chapter of your life, let everyone witness your beauty inside and out. Let your light shine bright for yourself and the people around you.
By the power vested in me, I pronounce you Mr. and Mrs. Jayce Jefferson! You may now give her a big smooch!
