We are gathered together today to bear witness to the unity of Elisha Jane-Ellen Reed and Jesse Michael Brewer in holy matrimony. If anyone here has any reason that these two should not be wed, please speak now, or forever hold your peace. *(Wait)*
Elisha and Jesse, matrimony is not to be entered into lightly but thoughtfully and seriously, and with a deep realization of its obligations and responsibilities. Always remember that love, loyalty, and understanding are the foundations of a happy and enduring life together.
Elisha Reed, do you come today of your own free will and accord, without coercion or reservation, to unite yourself in holy matrimony to Jesse? If you do, signify by saying, "Yes."
Jesse Brewer, do you come today of your own free will and accord, without coercion or reservation, to unite yourself in holy matrimony to Elisha? If you do, signify by saying, "Yes."
I will now read from the Holy Bible, the in words of the apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7: Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not arrogant, is not rude, is not self-seeking, is not irritable, and does not keep a record of wrongs. Love finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Elisha and Jesse wish to present each other with their own vows, and will share them now. Jesse, you may begin.
*(Vows)*
Do you Elisha Jane-Ellen Reed take this man Jesse Michael Brewer to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and woe, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself unto him for as long as you both shall live? If so, signify by saying, "I do."
*(Wait for Confirmation)*
Do you Jesse Michael Brewer take this woman Elisha Jane-Ellen Reed to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and woe, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself unto her for as long as you both shall live? If so, signify by saying, "I do."
*(Wait for Confirmation)*
The couple will now exchange rings as a symbol of their love and commitment.
*(Ring Exchange)*
I give you this ring / as a sign / of my faithful love and devotion. / I will love you always, / cherish you always, / and honor the vows / I have spoken to you / here today / forevermore.
I will now read from the Holy Bible, the words of Christ in Matthew 19:4-6: "Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,' and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate."
By the authority vested in me by God and the State of Kentucky I now pronounce you husband and wife! Jesse, you may kiss your bride! *(Wait)*
Ladies and gentlemen, it is my pleasure to introduce to you the new couple, Jesse and Elisha Brewer!
