We are gathered here to witness and celebrate the marriage of Christopher and Tamia.

This is not the beginning of a new relationship, but the acknowledgment of the next chapter in their lives together. Today, they will affirm this bond formally and publicly. On behalf of them, I welcome and thank each of you for being here today.

Christopher and Tamia...You are about to make your promises to one another, so I ask..do you both come here of your own free will to be joined in marriage?

Christopher, let me ask you first..Do you take Tamia to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad, for richer or for poorer, keeping yourself only unto her for as long as you both shall live?

And Tamia...do you take Christopher to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad, for richer or for poorer, keeping yourself only unto him for as long as you both shall live?

At this time, Christopher and Tamia will exchange rings. A ring is an unbroken circle, with ends that have been joined together and it represents your union. It is a symbol of infinity and of your infinite love. When you look at these rings, be reminded of this moment, your commitment, and the love you feel for one another.

Christopher and Tamia...You came here today, in the presence of family and friends to express your love for and commitment to each other. Your lives are forever changed. Now you can face your fears, for you each will be strength to the other; now you can brave the storm, for you each will be shelter to the other; now you can reap the rewards, for you each will be partner to the other; now, though you are two bodies, there is one life before you, and there, in that life, may you always find love.

Everyone, please join us in prayer. Lord. Bless Christopher and Tamia with love and hope and keep alive forever the vows they have pledged today. May you bless their dreams and visions and keep them both safe; May peace and joy be with Christopher and Tamia forever from this day. Amen.
