ABOUT THIS WEDDING
"It was a wonderful event, although a cold and rainy late winter day in Tooele Utah. We held a successful rehearsal Thursday night after all of the decorating was completed. The wedding began at 1:30 PM Friday afternoon. There were over 100 people in attendance. The music and processional went smoothly and the ceremony, which lasted a bit less than 10 minutes, seemed to be just right, with what was an appropriate amount of light heartedness combined with the right degree of reverence. When they first joined hands, I could see that the effort of extending both arms toward each other far enough that space existed for the minister to complete his work was quickly going to fatigue them! I began, "if the burden of extending your arms to hold each others' hands is too hard..." with an intentional pause to let them think I was going to relieve then of the obligation to continue, "that's tough, get used to it, marriage can be hard!" The couple and the audience received the humor and message as intended!"

Intro as the missionary who baptized Maeva's maternal grandparents 45 years ago in France, and the family friend who translated the parents' sealing in the Salt Lake Temple 22 years ago today.
A PROCLAMATION TO THE WORLD: THE FAMILY
“The family is ordained of God. Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan. Children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony, and to be reared by a father and a mother who honor marital vows with complete fidelity. Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Successful marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities.”
