Welcome family, friends, and loved ones.
We are here today to witness and celebrate as we watch Angie and Jandon join hands in marriage. We’re here to laugh with them, some of you are here to cry (you may have already started), but most of all, we’re here to wish them well as they begin their new life together. This is not the beginning of a new relationship but an acknowledgment of the next chapter in their lives together. Angie and Jandon have spent years getting to know each other, and we now bear witness to what their relationship has become. Today, they will affirm this bond formally and publicly.
Angie and Jandon will mark their transition as a couple not only by celebrating the love between them, but by also celebrating the love between all of us—including the love of their parents, siblings, extended family, and best friends. Without that love, today would be far less joyous.
Angie Nguyen and Jandon Smith will now share their vows.
*(Vows)*
1, (NAME), take you, (NAME), to be my husband /wife, my partner in life, and my one true love. I will cherish our friendship and love you today, tomorrow, and forever. I will trust you and honor you, I will laugh with you and cry with you. Through the best and the worst, through the difficult and the easy. Whatever may come I will always be there. As I have given you my hand to hold so I give you my life to keep.
Through the best and the worst
1, (NAME), take you, (NAME), to be my wife/husband and these things I promise you: I will be faithful to you and honest with you; I will respect, trust, help, and care for you; I will share my life with you; I will forgive you as we have been forgiven; and I will try with you better to understand ourselves, the world, and God; through the best and worst of what is to come, and as long as we live.
*(Vows)*
Do you Angela Nguyen take this man Jandon Smith to be your lawfully wedded partner, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself unto him for as long as you both shall live?
*(Wait for Confirmation)*
Do you Jandon Smith take this woman Angela Nguyen to be your lawfully wedded partner, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself unto her for as long as you both shall live?
*(Wait for Confirmation)*
A ring is an unbroken circle, with ends that have been joined together, and it represents your union. It is a symbol of infinity, and of your infinite love. When you look at these rings on your hands, be reminded of this moment, your commitment, and the love you now feel for each other.
Jandon, place the ring on Angie's finger and repeat after me:
Angie, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love with the pledge: to love you today, tomorrow, always, and forever.
And now... Angie, place the ring on Jandon's finger and repeat after me:
Jandon, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love with the pledge: to love you today, tomorrow, always, and forever.
*Wedding Prayer*
Now you will feel no rain, for each of you will be shelter for the other.
Now you will feel no cold, for each of you will be warmth to the other.
Now there will be no loneliness, for each of you will be a companion to the other.
Now you are two persons, but there is only one life before you.
May beauty surround you both in the journey ahead and through all the years. May happiness be your companion and your days together be good and long upon the earth.
Treat yourselves and each other with respect, and remind yourselves often of what brought you together. Give the highest priority to the tenderness, gentleness and kindness that your connection deserves. When frustration, difficulties and fear assail your relationship, as they threaten all relationships at one time or another, remember to focus on what is right between you, not only the part which seems wrong. In this way, you can ride out the storms when clouds hide the face of the sun in your lives -- remembering that even if you lose sight of it for a moment, the sun is still there. And if each of you takes responsibility for the quality of your life together, it will be marked by abundance and delight.
By the authority vested in me by the State of Georgia I now pronounce you married!
Jandon, you may kiss your bride!
