Who gives this wonderful soul to be married to this equally wondrous soul?

It is my honor to welcome Family, Friends and Loved ones of Sara and Ashlie to the beginning of a new and amazing chapter in the lives of these two people we all hold dear. Today we are here together to witness and unite Sara and Ashlie in marriage. Please be seated.

This is an unplugged ceremony, so I invite you all to turn off your cellphones and put away your cameras during the ceremony. The talented photographers will capture this amazing moment; I encourage you all to capture how it feels with your hearts, without the distraction of technology. If you have kids with you, we ask that you step them outside should they need a break during the ceremony. Thank you.

My name is Ryan, and it's my great honor and privilege to officiate the joining of these two beautiful souls. This is my first time officiating any wedding, ever, so.. Forgive me for all the nerdy video game, comic book and dungeons and dragons references I'll be making throughout this ceremony.

Invocation:

Sara and Ashlie present themselves to be married today to mark their transition as a couple not only by celebrating the love between themselves, but by also celebrating the love between all of us. Today, Sara and Ashlie affirm their bond formally and publicly, surrounded by such love. They thank you, as do I.

The couple would love to acknowledge the spiritual presence of some people who mean a great deal to them. They deeply regret those that are not here physically here today to join the celebration, but know they are here today, nonetheless. At this time, we'd like to take a moment of silence to remember those who are not here with us today.

*Pause for 10 seconds*

Here you see before you is a pair who defies expectation and tradition. To one side we have the literal reincarnation of both Loki and Alucard combined. Sara, the rambunctious soul who fights for the ones they love. The other side, we have the literal reincarnation of Ariel and Captain Marvel combined. Ashlie, a charming soul who loves with all she's got. The combination of such strong, ferocious love between these two is a beacon of hope for all who seek such love and companionship.

Before we proceed to the exchanging of vows, I'd like to take a moment to share a few personal thoughts on this very special day.

It feels like just yesterday that I was on the phone with Sara, they wishing me a happy birthday and asking me if I'd officiate their wedding. My lips said yes faster then my brain could register what was truly being asked of me. I remember hanging up the phone after our conversation and thinking... What. Did. I. Just. Say. Yes. To? As I spoke with friends and family about this very wedding, asking for advice and council, sweating buckets and praying to every deity in my d&d books, my anxiety just about hit the roof. It was only when I started writing out this script and looking over photos, remembering the good times we've shared, all the little moments we've all had, that I found a sort of.. Peace. For no matter how crazy and uncertain weddings can be, I was reminded that weddings are the beginning of something truly beautiful and awe-inspiring.

The late, great Carrie Fisher once said, “Stay afraid, but do it anyway. What’s important is the action. You don’t have to wait to be confident. Just do it and eventually the confidence will follow.”

I've known Sara for a good, long portion of my life. We went to school together, laughed and fought together. You're the tiny Gambit to my Sabertooth. The Punisher to my Kingpin. My tattoo buddy. We even saw Black Rebel Motorcycle Club together! We've shared so many wonderful memories, and it's been fantastic to watch you grow, evolve and fireball your way to becoming the wonderful human being you are today. This inanimate object, you so loving have called me many a times, is proud to be standing here today, seeing the love in your eyes as you look across to Ashlie, knowing full well she is your perfect soul mate.

Ashlie is someone I haven't known for nearly as long. I remember when I first heard tales about you from Sara. They told me you'd seen me a couple times at conventions and such. That you somehow recognized me, or possibly knew me. And then she brought you to Dos Coyotes and I remember seeing you there for the first time and thinking... I've never met this person in a day of my life. I remember sitting there talking with you as my one good brain cell frantically searched for any memories we could have possibly shared. Fast forward to you and I sitting in your house, many months later, as you show me all of your Disneyland figurines, books and collectibles, sharing with me your life and what's shaped you into the person you are today, I grew to admire the passion, love and excitement your eyes showed as you spoke of the things and people you hold dear. I see that same passion, love and excitement in your eyes, now, as you look across to Sara, and I know in my heart that they've found their perfect soul mate.

The journey Sara and Ashlie have experienced so far is unique. They've been tested time and again, overcome hurdles and loss in ways only they can truly understand. They've weathered a pandemic together, ran around anime conventions cosplaying together, and I am pretty sure they've conquered Disneyworld together. Mickey will never recover. And no matter what the world threw at them, here they stand before you all, their love unbreakable, as if it were made of Mythril or Adamantium.

The couple has written their own vows. Yesterday, during rehearsal, they rolled initiative to see who'd go first. *Insert name* won the dice roll, so they'll go first.

*Winner speaks their vows*

*Insert name* Is now your turn.

*Second Winner speaks their vows*

"A Scattered Dream That's Like A Far-Off Memory, A Far-Off Memory That's Like A Scattered Dream, I Want To Line The Pieces Up, Yours And Mine."

And that is why we're all here today; To watch two living bodies of memories and dreams line their pieces together, to become as one. This journey you've both decided to walk together will not always be easy. Marriage is so much more than two people standing here stating vows. There is an entire lifetime long path ahead of you both, one that you'll be walking together, learning and growing, along its winding ways.

You'll need to comfort one another during the storms and hardships life will surely throw at you in unexpected ways. To seek out happiness together, and to cultivate understanding and patience with one another. Remember that your love can always prevail in times of turmoil and darkness, for you are each each others lights when all other lights go out. Rely on each other, love and respect each other, and as you do, those scattered dreams and memories you were, will form an unbreakable bond that shall grow memories and dreams together.

Now, are we ready to make this official?

Do you Sara take Ashlie to be your lawfully wedded partner, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and woe, for richer or poorer, to love and to cherish, for now and forever?

*(Wait for Confirmation)*

Do you Ashlie take Sara (Adrian) to be your lawfully wedded partner, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and woe, for richer or poorer, to love and to cherish, for now and forever?

*(Wait for Confirmation)*

Sara and Ashlie will now exchange rings as a symbol of their love and commitment.

*Wait for rings*

A ring is an unbroken circle, with ends that have been joined together, and it represents your union. It is a symbol of infinity, and of your infinite love. Today, as you join yourselves in marriage, we shall help solidify your bond through the exchange of these rings, and as you look at these rings on your hands, be reminded of your commitment to one another, and the love you feel for each other.

Sara, after you've placed the ring on Ashlie's finger, repeat after me;

Ashlie, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and with this pledge; To love you today, tomorrow, always and forever.

And now.. Ashlie, as you place the ring on Sara's finger, repeat after me;

Sara, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and with this pledge; To love you today, tomorrow, always and forever.

*(Ring Exchange)*

By the authority vested in me by American Marriage Ministries and the State of California I now pronounce you wife and wife! You may now kiss!

*Wait for smooches*

Are you ready to celebrate?? While the newly married couple catches their breath, they invite you to make your way towards the reception area where we can continue the celebrations! Thank you so much for joining us for this ceremony!

And now for the moment we've all been waiting for... It is my immense pleasure to present to you, for the first time as newlyweds, Sara and Ashlie Casale! (Need to confirm final names)
