Officiated by Dinah Thomas at Niko Niko's in Houston, Texas on November 18th, 2022. Witnessed by N/A and N/A.
"I am excited to announce that I have officiated my very first wedding, a License Marriage Signing. From the initial contact when speaking with the bride, until the actual signing, I was not nervous, at all. I think I was more excited than anything. The couple were already common-law married and only wanted to, "make if official", therefore, they did not feel the need to have a full, all-out ceremony. I met the couple and their son at a restaurant, here in Houston and they were really nice. We talked for a few minutes while they ordered food and I married them right there at their table. They were really pleasant to work with and I am extremely honored to have been selected to officiate their Signing Ceremony, which was short, sweet, and simple. The couple couldn't thank me enough and they and their son were all very pleased. I know it was their ceremony, but it's a day I'll never forget. The only thing is, the couple was not up for taking any pictures, at all. I returned their Marriage License the very next day, via mail, and called last week to confirm that it was received by the County Clerk's Office."

Sign & Go Marriage License
Signing Ceremony Script
A short marriage ceremony script for use during a ‘sign and go’ marriage license signing ceremony. This script
contains all the requirements for a legally binding civil service, including the declaration of intent and the
officiant’s pronouncement. Personalize this wedding script with a favorite quote about love, or use it as is for a
quick signature service.
A marriage license signing ceremony, also called a ‘sign and go’ ceremony, a 'signing-only' ceremony, or an officiant
‘signature service,’ focuses on the couple’s legal marriage rather than the ritual aspects of a traditional wedding
ceremony.
This script contains the requirements for a legal marriage ceremony, including a declaration or expression of intent
to marry, and the pronouncement of marriage from the wedding officiant.
INVOCATION
OFFICIANT TO COUPLE
David and Marcia, I’m here today to join the two of you in marriage. You both expressed to me that it’s your marriage –
not a wedding or a big ceremony – that’s most important to you. So today, we sign the document that legally seals
this union, to honor the love that binds you.
DECLARATION OF INTENT
OFFICIANT TO COUPLE
If you both come freely, to join together in the partnership of marriage, please take each other by the hands and
reply 'we do.'
(The couple responds in the affirmative.)
Do you promise to respect and honor each other, and uphold the shared values that brought you here today?
(The couple responds in the affirmative.)
PRONOUNCEMENT
OFFICIANT TO COUPLE
Then by the power vested in me by the State of Texas and American Marriage Ministries, I pronounce you married.
MARRIAGE LICENSE SIGNING
The Wedding Officiant signs the marriage license, along with the couple and any required witnesses. This is the end of the ceremony. Time to celebrate!
